| It's an Axis & Allies minis week. I'll be running demos of the game at Game Knight on Friday night starting at 6 PM and at Pendragon on Saturday starting at 1 PM.

Tonight is Board Game Club!
We are playing:
Skull-Duggery - A swashbuckiling Pirate adventure game - collect the map peices while avoiding enemy pirates on an island gameboard made of tiles that is ever changing. Ages 8 & up (for you family guys)
Pick Two (deluxe) - The definitive crossword game - Players draw letter tiles and make thier own personal crosswords, when the pile of tiles is gone the player who completes their own puzzle wins the round. Ages 8 & Up (also for you family guys).
Axis & Allies Minis demo - With our own Mike Jackson! - Blow up the enemy using tanks and guns. Who new WWII could be this much fun!

A decent turnout last night with seven people including some fresh me..err, two new players.

| SWM themes:
Cantina bar fight! (200 points) - your warband must contain 10 figures, no two of which can be the same species.
The Machines Attack! (150 points) - All droids are considered to be fringe. All warbands must be 75% droids.
Troops! (100 points) - All warbands must be an army of troopers - Stormtroopers, Clonetroopers, Rebel troopers, Mandalorean troopers or even Sith troopers.
DDM themes:
Baker's dozen (100 points) - All warbands must contain 13 figures (to start), and only 13 figures.
Mage Battle - 75% of your warband must be spellcasters.
Slugfest 2007 - Only melee attacks allowed. No spells, ranged attacks, or special abilities can be used by figures (although you can build a warband with them, you can't use them).
Reverse Victory - You score anti-victory points for occupying your opponents victory squares - ie team A puts a figure in team B's VP area, and team B loses 10 victory points. Negative scores apply! No scoring for Victory points in your own squares. | |

| As you can see from above Friday's now feature minis casual play, including SWM. On the schedule starting in November but that could go for October too.
The theory is based on something Scott, Nico, and myself discussed one Saturday after a DDM demo. The thought was that is was nice to play once in a while in a casual enviroment, not having to worry about all the little rules, time limits, ultra eliete pieces, etc... Could be an opertunity to try a fun warband you might not want to use in a sanctioned event. Or a chance to test an idea for a theme game.
The idea for those nights is to either go with the suggested games or whatever people want to arrange to play. Everyone coming down that night should bring a couple warbands for themselves and to lend to others in case they don't play that game.
The 12th and 26th in October would work for Casual Minis Nights.
If people have games they would like to see done on these nights shout 'em out.
