| The loot.
Now's as good a time as any to start figuring out how your characters want to handle dividing the treasure they recieve.
Who's handling the money, selling off the surplus goods?
Equal shares for everyone or free for all economics?
Who's holding the stuff?
Who's greasy fingers are in the till?
Don't forget you have expenses to pay for in town.

| The Legend of Fiddlin' Dingle Oakenheart - Part 6 (The Day of the Raccoon)
The Raccoon of the River, this bittersweet ballad said it all about this period on Dingle's life.
And a cold rain did fall....
As the water poured down upon young Dingle chilling him to the bone he didn't care. Clutching his now empty bottle of turnip wine he curled into a ball and whished for the world to go away.
And the rain continued to fall. The land around the river already quite wet the river began to rise quickly and before Dingle knew it he was being swept away in its icy cold flow. Once again Dingle passes out, broken and alone and figuring his life was at an end...
And yet he didn't die. Dingle felt the warm kiss of the sun on his skin and when he opened his eyes he was lying at the side of the river on a pleasant green bank, wine bottle still clutched in his hands. When his eyes could focus again there was a curious raccoon staring him right in the face. For a long while the raccoon and Dingle sat there by the river's side and stared at one another, until the Raccoon seemed to smile and then turn scampering down river the river.
On shakey legs Dingle stood, dropping the wine bottle as if forgotten, and he followed the curious raccoon. The little critter led young Dingle on a merry chase down the river side until he suddenly stopped and stood there as if pointing at something. Cautiously Dingle approached the bank of sand the raccoon was pointing at and lying there was his cherrywood fiddle, no worse for ware.
Dingle dropped to his knees and looked at the raccoon as understanding washed over him. The raccoon was in fact Baervan Wildwanderer, guiding him back to life. Knowing not what else to do Dingle picked up the fiddle and began to play as the raccoon watched and smiled.
That day in the warmth of the summer sun Dingle played every song he knew for Baervan, in the presence of the deity he could feel Adele smiling down at him from Bytopia.
And as the sun set an exhausted Dingle laid down the sleep the raccoon faded away with a smile.....

Like, this is my morning. I just spent 55 minutes on the phone with Dell support in India, trying to get my laptop working. It froze up last night and I haven't been able to reboot it since. We tried this, and we tried that, and I unscrewed the parts off the back and put them back in. Well it came down to doing a system restore.
So now it is like it came out of the box. Emails gone web favourites gone documents gone DCI reporter gone programs gone movies gone tick pictures for maxminis avatars gone email addresses gone 4 months of getting it use-able gone
sigh...........
Did I ever mention how I hate computers.....
Pass the turnip wine Dingle......

| Hello all,
As I am unsure of exactly when I will arrive, don't wait on pizza for me.
As for who has the treasure list - that would be the Beer Baron, I mean Lannister.
Hmmm ...
If Nico is not going to be there, and I will be late, do we need to reschedule?
Also, any views on my note about the errand we are tasked with?
Cheers

I'd rather not do any rescheduling as we'll be off next week as well because of beer club.

| Don't reschedule! The show must go on! I am already regretting not going. The bright side for me is unlike last summer I will be here for most of this summer. Maybe gone 2 weeks at most this summer.
This Dingle tale is haunting...(get it)...oh come on...its better than one of Felix's jokes that you have to suffer through. But who is more funny? Nico or Felix?
Felix will have some sort of errand or task while his companions are gone. But the guilt and shame of being away from the party will exact a toll on his Paladin Heart (DM Mike can tell me later). Hopefully it won't be to exacting...? Right Mike.
What is going on the Wednesday after? And who is going to League as i have found I can make it this Thursday and won't be out of town until Friday? | | Pounce goes the cat!!! Felix the Flounder strikes! All heed the Drunken Paladin who performs comedy!!!

| One of the advantages of having a larger group is being able to play on and still get things down when a player or two can't make a given week.
I'm glad some of you are enjoying the Legend of Fiddlin' Dingle Oakenheart. It shall continue.

This other dealer has a wacky sense of humour, and when I pulled the jugs out of the boxes yesterday to sample some, lo and behold - Dingelberry wine! | A little wrap up from last night.
No PC's to bury again. Perhaps better luck next time for the DM. For those of you who didn't get it there was 625 XP assigned at the end of the session.
Speaking of the next time that will be April 11th as we're off next week. We'll resume the adventure the morning after in the goblins' lair. Perhaps you will have better luck than the goblins getting your mules to knife fight.
Will Lannister recover his fancy sword? Will little Dingle learn a lesson about not abandoning sleeping companions to sticky fingered sword stealing goblins? Can mules knife fight? What shall be the fate of Blix? And where ever did Felix get to?
Stay tuned in two weeks to find out.

| The Legend of Fiddlin' Dingle Oakenheart - Part 7 (Leaving Home)
Turnips Behind Me, The Open Road Ahead was the first song Dingle wrote as he got his life back on track and it summed up things nicely.
Fearing his father Gordon wouldn't understand Dingle left a simple note pinned to the family turnip silo which read 'The music calls again and the road I must follow. Yours Dingle'. Packing some meager provisions and possession in a bindle Dingle slung his cherrywood fiddle under his shoulder and hit the open road bound for where ever the wind blew him.
For many a year did Dingle wander. At first fiddling all through out the Great Dale and then the lands that surround it. Finally to most of the lands of the Inner Sea did Dingle travel all the while perfecting his craft and building a reputation as a skilled musician.

| Hello,
Sorry for the long time in responding. It was fun last week, even if I did arrive a little late.
I will miss not gaming this week. Oh well, I get to skirmish on Thursday instead.
As to the game, I think we have a couple of priorities:
1) Heal Up!
2) Put an end to Mule Knife Fights.
3) Heal Up!
4) Convert Blix to the path of good.
5) Do an inventory of what we now have available to sell an account for treasure. We need to be buying another healing wand in the near future. If we get enough funds I can also scribe quite a few healing scrolls.
6) Find Felix
7) Heal Up!
Find Lannister's jewelled sword.
9) Recover spider poison glands for the temple.
10) Explore the second level of the elf tomb we have been looting (or protecting on your point of view).
11) Heal Up!
Cheers

| The Legend of Fiddlin' Dingle Oakenheart - Part 8 (Bandits! We don't need no stinkin' Bandits!)
Fiddlin' for Paupers and Kings, that song pretty much summed up Dingle's life at this point.
As his skill as a musician grew so did Dingle's reputation and thus the demand for his services. Life was a blur for young Dingle at this time, constant on the move as his fiddling took him to one place and then another. While Dingle enjoyed the status and wealth playing for kings and nobles brought him he was just as happy fiddlin' away in a simple tavern or market square.
And wealth he did have. Playing for the various nobles and well to do around the Inner Sea left Dingle with coin and gems to spare. Constantly on the move Dingle had little time or opportunity to spend his money and thus ended up carrying the majority of his wealth along the road with him. Once again tragedy would visit young Dingle's life....
While traveling the road between Cormyr and Sembia merrily fiddling a happy tune and not paying close attention to his surroundings Dingle was quickly surrounded by a group of rather unsavory looking women. Brandishing swords and clubs they looked quite threatening to young Dingle, he considered trying to make a run for it but considering there was at least a dozen of them and they all had longer legs than him he decided against it.
The leader of the bandits stepped forward, a rather rough looking half-orc who identified herself as Bluuga leader of the Blood Harpies. With a grin that made Dingle's skin crawl she ordered the young gnome to resume playing his fiddle, saying that perhaps if his music pleased them his life would be spared.
Fearing for his life Dingle began to play, play as he never had before. When he finished Bluuga grinned at him again and before Dingle could react she hoofed him right in the nuts, dropping him to the ground like a sack of frozen potatoes. Quickly the wicked women set upon him and before Dingle could recover from the terrible pain the stripped him clean of all his valuables and disappeared into the forest.....

| Getting back to Omand's points there, healing is always a good thing. Then again some players enjoy rolling up new characters.
Having a group treasurer would probably be a good idea for the as yet nameless party. All the loot going through one person tends to cut through a lot of the confusion and allow things to be distributed fairly. I suggest the Rogue, you can always trust the Rogue with the party's money......
Speaking of names for your group I want one picked by next week. Thus to ensure that we have one by the time we next play I'm going to give this bonus.... a Wand of Cure Light Wounds with 1 charge! I want each player to submit their single name of choice for the group before Sunday. For each player that does so I add 5 charges to the wand.
Then you all vote to determine the winning entry. That player will be gifted with a free potion of cure moderate wounds.
Start thinking of your name idea now and post when you're ready. Good luck everyone.

| Lannister's Lucky Looters?
No, to obvious. Perhaps Everybody Loves Lannister? No, too vain, and too much like Everybody Loves Raymond.
Maybe Lannister Strikes Back! Well other than those scimitar stealin' goblins, nobody would get it.
How about What's Eating Lannister Lazenby? Nobody knows the movie reference and I don't want to give the DM ideas.
The L Team Like the A-Team, but lead by Lannister.
Hmmm....this is tougher than I thought. Lannister will have to think on this some more......

How about these choices for our merry band's name:
The Seven Rays of the Sun The Dawn-Bringers The Company of Light Lathander's Legion The Company of the Dawn
Hello,
I had previously suggested some names for our band.
I know that no one was wild about them, but I really think that the following old (and a few new ones) can work:
The Dawn-Bringers The Company of Light The Company of the Dawn The Gold Company (If we get golden tabards to wear over our armour) The Stalwart Six The Shadowdale Foresters (especially ironic considering our lack of track and survival skills) The Shadowdale Sentinels
Let me know what you think.

Since we are levelling up (most of us), anyone planning on taking Track as a feat?
It might just be helpful to us since we do not have a Ranger or Druid in the band.

| You may only have one official entry each.
I believe Jory has been considering taking either levels of Druid or Scout, he will require training to do so of course. I am unsure of where he still stands on that front and if Track was in his plans or not.
I haven't heard much from Chris Smythe lately but one of the last options he was considering was Druid as well.

Well, if I am limited to one entry:
The Company of Light sounds good to me. Not overtly religious depending on where we travel, but evocative enough about us being good and just adventurers.

| It's a slow day and I should take advantage of that and get some paper work done. But I'm thinking of this name thing.
So what is it we do? We've killed some stirges and were rats, looted a tomb, and are currently looking for spider venom and sword stealing mule oppressing goblins. Hmmmmm......
We've got a Cleric of Lathander and a Paladin of (Torm? Lathander?), a handsome talented Rogue, an Elven Wizard, an Elven Fighter, and the son of Legendary Dingle Oakenheart. What brings us together? What is our driving force?
We want loot, and experience. Doing good is ...well....good! The world is in good shape and doesn't need saving (that we know off). There are still pesky monster's in need of a killin'.
We are based in Shadowdale. But we travel. We're not woodsmen but are surrounded by woods. Lannister knows how to cut down trees, but is trying to give that career the heave-ho. Veil has big shoes to fill, and sings off-key. Nymagus is smart, and wants to learn more. Cutter knows how to get bacon off things, but isn't a butcher. Gawain heals our boo-boos, and is our voice of reason. Felix drinks too much, and is partly crazy, and hates frogs.
One thing I learned in my business experience is that it helps if your name defines who you are and what you do. GameKnight sells games, and we play games at night, and having a family game night is a good thing, and knights are pieces in chess, and they slay dragons, which are at the core of D&D, and we sell that and chessboards too. Grape & Grain sells wine kits (grape) and beer kits (grain).
Hmmmm......This is going to take some more thought.
In the mean time the best I could come up with (other than something Lannistercentric) is:The Shadowdale Relic Hunters.

If we were evil then we could be Cutter and the Black Hearts, could be a good band name too I guess.
