| Well it sounds like Scott is going to do Beer Club but if everyone else is up for it we can probably play.
I figure we can keep it simple with some pizza.

I did indeed survive my trip. Will be out on Wednesday for gaming. Have to be out of town next week for work as well, so need to get some gaming in right away.
Cheers

| It is logical with 4 of 5 members of Salty Pete's Crew available to play that we proceed with the campaign this Wednesday. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
It is also logical that we eat pizza on D&D night.

| I think we can assume that Scott's character is available for acid splash. But the almighty DM says we would need alot of it.
So, anyway we can use acid splash - but is there a way we can augment the Acid Splash????
I really think Chris has listed some good options there - can we do 2 of those options???
I have to get back to writing a test so I will post chronicles tomorrow - bye [ :)] | | Stop monkeying around - thats my job!!!

| Tales from the Chronicler Sept. 19 Night 2
All Routes Point to Treasure
In the center room our heroes venture into the West/Left corridor. The Hadozee searches and finds the untrapped room at the end. Tharnog lifts a huge heavy Portculis (gate) and the party proceeds into the next room. After a quick search their is nothing but dirty rags and crap in the far corner. The party takes time to search ... but ... enter the rats .... dum dum dum!!!
The monkey man crits a rat. Tharnog thumps and kills a rat! Cedrith swipes at a rat and Tal strikes one. Monkey Man manoveurs for the sneak attack and kills a rat. O but the rats attack back biting and scratching the Dwarf, Hadozee and the Barbarian. Barbarian is angry and thumps and kills the rat. Tal manoveurs and throws Alchemist Fire on 4 rats and Monkey Man gets hit in the crossfire! Barbarian flanks a rat to death; Cedrith and Tal hammer another rat to death with quarterstaff and the like. The Dwarf charges and power attacks another rat to death!!! Cederith and the Hadozee put a final end to the last Rat!!! Please almighty DM ... no ...more ... RATS!!!!
Cedrith and Tal seem to be fascinated with the corner crap - they search it - lovingly. Yet their efforts produce ... Rusty Daggers and Treasure (coins), steel pot hemit, carprentary hammer and a bronze mace head. The room is searched more thoughly and a ceiling trapdoor is found by Tal. It is not trapped but will not budge.
After the party forces the ceiling trapdoor open the Hadozee peeks up ... and is smacked in the face with a decomposing rat carcass ... thanks O mighty DM!!! Grath finds a small room with a 10ft corridor heading east. There is various kinds of rat shit, smashed machinary and boulders which end the tunnel heading east above our heroes. Monkey Man goes up and lowers a rope through the trapdoor incase anyone wishes to follow and rescue him should trouble erupt! Grath finds nothing of interest ... woe is the rogue, but, wait a second trapdoor leading up again ... Mmmhhh. The Party tells him to retreat for the night and so Tharnog lifts the gate and a wooden table from the goblin room is shoved between gate and floor to lock it open.
The Party settles down for the night and Cedrith and Tal take 1st watch. They hear snake slithering to the North and heavy scraping and dragging to the West where we have just come from ... errie. During the 2nd shift the Hadozee only hears the heavy dragging. The final shift is uneventfull for the rest of the night ... kinda ... as the Dwarf Tharnog unsettles everyones sleep with much annoying heavy jugplaying!!! Oh is Tharnog content and rested and yet everyone complains of a rude sort ment of jug playing dreams. Nevertheless the party awakens after the 3rd day into their 10 day quest ... somewhat refreshed ... but fully healed.

| Tales from the ChroniclerSept. 19 Night 2
All Routes Point to TreasurePart II
Migwin searches for tracks and finds nothing as the Tharnog continues to blow his jug ... seemingly annoying his companions. They make their way back into the rat/ crap room with trapdoor. Grath goes up and continues forward as Cedrith hangs on the rope incase of trouble to retrieve the monkey man. Grath searches the 2nd trapdoor and seemingly finds nothing ... OK ... on and upward and ... Uh Oh ... the Portculis snaps up and cuts Monkey Man off from Cedrith after Monkey man activates a hidden panel. His searching for traps is not going to well as Cedrith tries to force the Portculis down, but it does not budge. But Grath finds a recessed hole with a strong box in it. He is much too enthralled with it ... fails yey another search for traps and ... grabs the box ... and .... posion green gas hisses into the room as the Hadozee tries to recover poorly. Tharnog tries to force the Portculis down and ... fails, fails ... Monkey Man runs with the box after trying to put it back fails and tries to hold breath. Grath tries to force the Portculis and fails. One more mighty pull and yank and Tharnog forces down the gate. Nearly half dead the Trio escape to the center room again and appear to have no ill affects or gas following them. Hadozee fails to open the box but after many attempts it is opened. Coins and a green vile are found inside
Opposite the crap in the corner of the room - finding no more gas - the party forces the door open. Egads ... skeltons and zombie's so boldly forward does Cedrith step forward infront of the party ... he knows what he must do ... what he was born to do ... brandishing his holy symbol in silent prayer. His intentfull golden gaze is set upon his holy task ..... and he roles a NAT 1 and hits the ground flailing. Tharnog steps forward and smashes a skelton hard but not down. Migwin stands over Cedrith to protect his fallen comrade and smitherines a skelton to bits. The Hadozee steps up behind the Dwarf and aims his crossbow over his shoulder ... alas he slips and the bolt doth goth thru Tharnogs Helmit ... comically! Tal manoveurs into the room and launches Alchemist Fire into the foes. Tharnog missed due to the arrow through his helmit. Migwin charges and hits a Zombie while Tharnog power attacks a Zombie. Tal hits and hits again as he eventually gets Cedrith a potion to heal him. Cedrith is up and turns the remaining 2 skeletons and 2 Zombies to the far end of the room. The Party finishes off the undead as Cedrith maintains the turn. The rogue and party searches the room and find -gold ring with Masterwork Scimatar
Further searching finds a secret panel which the Hadozee deems safe (really) and pushes the panel in wall ... cue secret door opening ... dum dum dum. Hadozee uses a table leg as a trap finding device or blind cane device. His reflexes launch him back from the collapsing floor which reveals ... dum dum dum ... spikes in a pit below. Tal and Migwin bring the table top in from the other room to bridge the length of the pit. Carefully the Hadozee crosses the makeshift bridge ... he is wary of the pit ( and his bad rolls). The cheast is opened ... but before he can gaze into the cheast his uncanny reflexes tumbles his Monkey Ass across the pit before the spikes slam up into the ceiling (that was good rolling). So the opened cheast lays behind the spikes slammed up into the ceiling of this room. The adventures are slightly discouraged to be separated from their hard earned booty! | | Stop monkeying around - thats my job!!!

| If you noticed quite a bit was missing as you read part II - after your comment. My last entry was 3 parts last time and so will this one be. Again ... your right I still don't have the part where we all almost died. It is late and this has taken me a couple of hours.
I have about a page left to chronicle so I think I will fire part III off tomorrow guys. Gonna be a long day at work tomorrow - looking forward to Dnd

| Tales from the Chronicler Sept 19 Night 2
All Routes Point to Treasure Part III
All Party members are hurt pretty bad from the undead encounter. Grath is positively green from the gas. Minor healing occurs but it is an all to brief respite. Some talk of calling it a day - what, it is merely half day - on we go but some think better of it.
At the center room the Party heads straight or North as the crow may fly ... in a dungeon! The green moldy door is dead ahead ... what lies behind the green door ... certainly not ... entertainment! The rogue determines that the door is biologically trapped (Don't ask me I just report it). Thagnor dons his crappy potted helmit and charges the door (what the hell are you thinking?) Rammed into the door spores hit everyone, including those who stand back down the corridor and shake their heads at the Dwarf. The door is slightly ajar; The Party rushes forward and breaks down the door ... (wasn't there objections to this plan....?)
Two giant green slithering Monsters paralyze the Dwarf with a bite - must have been the helmit over the eyes! Cederith attacks - misses; Hadozee tumbles and falls short; Tal misses with orb of electricity - and ... Cedrith is paralyzed. Hadozee is parlyzed. Wizard despartely tosses flammable oil onto one of the beasts. Migwin wakes and rages from his unconcious state. Tal can't quite get one of the creatures lit. Thagnor wakes from his coma and starts wailing on a Slither along with Migwin. A Slither goes down ... but not the right one for Tal as he wanted to light it on fire! Cederith wakes and casts defensive magic and heals Migwin. Hadozee wakes and fails a tumble ... Migwin hits for massive damage ... and Thagnor finishes off the last Slither.
Cont... yet again ... have to go to work. | | Stop monkeying around - thats my job!!!

Did Salty Pete like his compass? 1) Yes we did get the chest, the method I'm not to sure of. 2) There was half a treasure map, black leather boots, and a ring with an ivory skull in it. In the false bottom there was 100 gp. 3)I voluntered to go down the water pit, first time down i went left and alomst got sucked into a rushing water pit going down, second time i went down i found a Bec du Corbin which glows blue when theres a dragon around. 4)Yes we magaged to get back to town. 5) Yes he did like his compass and we leave in about 5 days.

| Alrighty. XP time.
Everyone gets 500 XP for the Bullywug fight and another 200 for Roleplaying and puzzle solving. An additional 200 XP go to the 4 players who didn't wander off in pursuit of booze.
In addition to that it's time for a little personal diary recap. Everyone who posts a reasonably detailed account of the events of the first 3 sessions for their characters perspective can earn up to an additional 500 XP.
As for the coming week my understanding is Chris will be away. Is anyone else going to be out of commission for this next session?
If not we'll forge ahead as best we can without the Wizard, there are still a couple in town issues that have to be dealt with.

| Tharnogs Diary.
After the little boy told me about Salty Pete’s job I gratefully accepted. I talked to my monkey friend Grath and he said he got the offer as well. So we both headed down to The Blushing Mermaid. When we got there we were introduced to a very beautiful waiter. We asked her where we would find Salty Pete and she showed us to a table. There was already 2 men sitting there, the first was a regular sized human and the second was a huge man. Twice the height of me. We waited there for a bit and a male with pointy ears and golden eyes show up for the job as well.
We waited for a bit while drinks were handed to us and apparently Salty Pete was paying for our drinks. So after a while of drinking we noticed a guy at another table staring us down. We called at him asking for a drink but he refused. So then I just got up and walked over to him and started talking. I asked him if he really didn’t need a free drink and he still refused. So I asked him his name and he was Salty Pete.
After the rest of the group walked over and sat down Salty Pete had wanted to test us. He said that we had to go to this infested dungeon and receive his compass and we have a 10-day to do this in. So we accepted this and headed off.
It took us about a 1½ days to get to a swampy area and about ½ a day to get through the swamp and to the dungeon. When we arrived there we got the monkey man to search the door for traps, there was none. So we opened the door. When we walked down there were three other ways we could go. So we chose to go right. We got to the first door and the monkey man again searched for traps and there was none. But it was locked and it took Grath a couple of tries before opening it. When it was opened there were about 7-8 Goblins. So Big Mig charged in and hit one. Then I hit another. Then Big Migs friend puts them all to sleep. After we kill them all in their sleep we get Grath to search the door for traps and it seems there’s no traps. Big Mig walks through and get shot with an arrow out of now where. Then I walk through and OUCH another arrow in me. Then the monkey figures out its triggered by a panel by the floor. We proceed to the next room and find some more goblins. After we kill them all we open the chest with force. There is some copper pieces.
So we go back and find a flooded room and Big Mig walks through and fell down a water pit. Then we go and search to the right and we find a portcullis. I pick and hold it up while the rest of the party goes under. When I let it goes it shuts. The rats started swarming the place. After we did short work of the rats Grath find a secret panel in the roof. He goes up there and sets off a trap that is poison gas and retrieves a potion. Then we go into the next room and find another door with a chest in it. Grath sets off that trap which the floor fell down and sprigged the spikes into the wall.
After that we slept in the cross-roads and I heard sliding of bodies or something in the rat room. When we woke up we checked out the centre room. It was jammed so I put on a pot helmet and rammed my head into the door a couple of times. When I broke open the door there were these big bugs which paralysed us and the wizard managed to save us. When we opened the other door there was a chest with the compass. Then again we slept back in the cross-roads.
When we awoke Big Mig had this idea to bend and wedge open the spikes. Then we shrunk and greased Grath to get some gold, boots, half a map, and a ring.
After we got the contents out we went and checked out the watering hole. I volunteered to go under. The first time under I went right at the bottom of the water pit and all I found was a stronger water current going down another pit. The second time I went down I went left. I then found an air pocket with an alter that glowed blue. Then I came back up and told the guys what I saw and we went back down with everyone. And this time it wasn’t glowing and it was a Bec Du Corbin that glows blue when there’s a dragon near by. Then we started to head out to town. On out way there we found a farmer headed back to his farm and we escorted him there. He offered us a meal and a place to sleep. The next day we went back to town and talked to Salty Pete and gave him back his compass. Now we have to wait until the wizard gets better.

I didn't wander off in pursuit of booze, I went to an appointed organized forum in the pursuit of a higher understanding of fermented barley and hop infused beverages.
Big Mig's diary:
Uh...frog men....uh...smash dem and get wud. Back to unnergrownd cave to bend bars an get loot...uh writin iz hard.
Big Mig's diary, translated by friends:
Well before resting for the night the party of Salty Pete's future crew goes off in search of sturdy wood needed for an attempt at getting past a bunch of metal bars. Migwin and friends find some wood, and are set upon by Bullywugs. They fight them off, but the effort is taxing and they retire for the evening.
The next day, after a good night's rest, the wood is used as a fulcrun to lever and twist the bars open. Graf, the Hadozee is shrunk and sent forth to recover the items in the chest. He is successful, and with a sack of gold the party returns to the city. Salty Pete is given his compass, and the group is congratulated fo their fine efforts.
They make plans to set sail in 5 days time, while they look after their affairs in town. Migwin, still working hard to grasp the written language and strained from his previous efforts, sets about to study and practice writing. | | "GameKnight Games and Cool Stuff Winnipeg's source for RPGs and minis!" www.gameknight.ca

All Routes Point to Treasure Part IV
The Slithering Monsters are dead!!! Hoorayee, so nearly are we it appears .... Licking our wounds ... literally for the Hadozee! The party takes stock of their state and mends what little left they have to use in the way of wits. They search the room and find coins, rat skeletons .... and a secret door!!! The Rogue sees that it is indeed trapped ...so ... he disables the Swinging Axe Trap. The door is opened and ... behold Salty Pete's Nautical Compass on a pedistal at the far end of the room ...At last!!!
The Dwarf charges into the room (is this a theme or something with you?) and ....the floor collapses and Tharnog takes massive falling damage but his annoying jug has miraculously survived ... which he begins to play annoyingly enough! Tharnog throws a torch to illuminate the room and give away his position ... if the jug weren't enough ... Migwin NO LIKE JUG MUSIC; he tosses a torch at Tharnog and smacks him in the head. Tal and Cedrith tie a rope around the Hadozee who is thrown by mighty Migwin across the room to the pedistal. After a quick check for traps the compass is secured and the Hadozee has only to glide down on his arm flaps to the Dwarf who cries here I am and begins happily tooting on his damn JUG!!! MIGWIN hits him again in the head with another flaming torch! :) I say good shot STRONG MAN! The Hadozee glides down to Tharnog and the rest of the Party pulls them to safety!!!! Time to camp for the night - for this session certainly all routes did lead to treasure ... but one is unreachable??? | | Stop monkeying around - thats my job!!!
