| Kiddoc,
Can you throw in some signed Rikka cards for prizes? I don't know if you have any extra cards but just thought it would be neat. Unfortunately I only have one Rikka but I would happily exchange my unmarked card for a stat card signed by the lovely lady who inspired you to victory and to make the figure [:D] | | Charles AKA The Beardless One, Proud Member of Team Amish

I'd love to do this. Unfortunately, I only own 3 Rikkas. If somebody with a huge collection sends me a batch of cards, I'll have them all signed and then exchange them for unsigned cards. I'll make it worth the while of the person who sends them. Unfortunately, I need the cards to sign first, and right now I have too few! | | POST DISCLAIMER: Above post may contain humor. Game Parlor in Chantilly has a decent selection of recent boosters(some boosters from Aberrations and newer sets), or at least they did when I was there a few weeks ago. They also have a store in Woodbridge, but I've never been there. http://www.gameparlor.com/
Other Realms in Gaithersburg is the closest location that has regular tourneys, but they don't have as wide a selection of boosters. When I was last there in mid-January, they only had a couple boosters of Deathknell and a few of Aberrations, but more were supposed to be ordered soon. http://www.other-realms.com/otherrealms/
Games, Comics, & Stuff in Glen Burnie (near Baltimore) also runs tourneys, but I haven't been there since the Underdark pre-release, so I don't know their current booster selection. http://www.gamescomicsstuff.com/
I don't know of any stores in the DC area that sells singles.
Oh, and welcome to the DC area! Hope to see you for some of the local tournaments. | | Champion of the Thoqqua

| I will be updating the list of people who have confirmed today.
If anyone else is confirming, please let me know.

| I have updated the list. We are now at 29 players. If we get more players, I'll bow out and just run the event, although I would love to do the draft portion. We can max out at 30 players so we are right at the point where we can be.
I also know that Shoe had said not all the WotC guys might be able to play, so we may have a few slots left.
I would have to say that WotC should be very happy with the minis turn-out... They will have 3 sold out sealed events for Winterfantasy! Shoe, I'm not sure who does all the number crunching for this event, but that has to be pretty impressive. | | Sean Banks Champion of Elementals Official Organizer Gen Con 05 maxminis Event | Winterfantasy 06 maxminis Event | Gen Con 06 maxminis Event | Winterfantasy 07 Community Event

| I wouldn't be surprised too if they let a few more in than the 30 they originally mentioned (particularly if the limit never reachs the Con Website...).
I would drop out as if need to to get as many in as we can.

| OK, updates are made!
Please take a look and let me know if yes you will be there or no you wont. I'd like to make sure that everyone who is going to play makes it and can play.
Please post a play or not so I can make sure hte list is 100%. I've not heard from several people so I'm still not sure. I'm also wondering if the WotC guys count towards our 30 player limit and Shoe did say they may not all be able to play. | | Sean Banks Champion of Elementals Official Organizer Gen Con 05 maxminis Event | Winterfantasy 06 maxminis Event | Gen Con 06 maxminis Event | Winterfantasy 07 Community Event

| | I would think that the limit of 30 was due to space limitations for multiple events running at the same time. Since the only DDM event at 7:30 is League I don't see a problem with more than 30. | Open Fiesta:
When you play in the RPGA Living Greyhawk Campaign, your character comes from a specific region, based upon where you live. New England (for your example Ack...) is the Country of Bissel.
The way the rules are set up, you can only run Bissel adventures in Bissel. BUT, your character can "travel" to other regions. SO, if there was a Convention in NYC, you could go down there and play in a "Keoland" adventure (NY and NJ (and PA?) are the country of Keoland). There are also "regional" adventures that can be played in several regions. i.e. Bissel and Keoland are both part of the Sheldomar River Valley Meta-Region, so a Sheldomar regional adventure could be run either in NY, or in CT.
Major conventions have NO regional or Meta-Regional adventures, rather they are the premiers for "core" scenario's. These are often adventures that take place in countries not represented by statses/territories, or in wilderness areas. All of the adventures that take place in the City of Greyhawk are Core adventures.
However, at Winter Fantasy, during the Open Fiesta, DM's from around teh country are allowed to run people through their own countries adventures. Not planning on getting down to Texas anytime soon, but REALLY want to play in a Bandit Kingdoms adventure, the Open Fiesta is your chance!
Since this is an opportunity that make Living Greyhawk players won't get at any other time, many will jump at the opportunity to play in an adventure that otherwise, they would never be able to participate in.
Does that answer it?

| Just added another name. We are now at the 30 person mark. Again, I'll be willing to bow out and run the event if we get more names, also Shoe had mentioned that some of the WotC guys might not be able to play.

| Striderlotr:
Lets start up a list of Alternates. I'm sure that either it won't matter for extra people to (pay and) Participate, or some people won't make it.
Glad to see such interest everyone!
Now, what are people bringing for prizes? I might bring a entry pack of Harbinger, or maybe some Chainmail figures (Pyromancer, Orc Druid...).
I plan on playing with Archfiends and DK.

As for prizes, I'm not sure yet. I'm was thinking of throwing in some older promos and repaints. | looks like you have a large list of players attending. I have been lucky enough to only have attended GenCon SoCal (thanks to limited qualifier) and the attendance to the miniature area just did not look like to matched all the hype I have read about from previous years and other locations.
Onfo is given, promos especially for that event, and great attendance and support is given to the other cons. what happend for SoCal? why was the one I attended shafted?
Best of luck to you all.

| I think that GenConSoCal suffers from its dates, and its location...
There was an independent event that the SoCal crew organized, but it wasn't advertised or pumped up as much. It seemed like they had a good showing though...
SpikeGif, if your going next time, jump on in and help organinze. Strider and I will be jumping into GenCon Indy next...

| Looks like i'm bringing Underdark and Anglefire - for boosters and for prizes - I didn't know if this was good or not but I have some WotC templates like cone of cold and fireball - that come in the retailers kits... should I kick in some crap rares or promo pieces as well? I know it's not set in stone but I don't want to be a weak contributer? Any thought - be honest. | | Winter Fantasy, Wardrums Pre-release Champion

| People shouldn't feel pressure on what they provide as prizes based on what others do. The idea is to have FUN! I don't have all the templates, so they would end up on my list of wants.
No one will be judged based on what they bring!
Just come with a smile, and positive attitude...

| Sorry for falling out of the loop for a while, gang... I should be able to make it up to Winter Fantasy. Assuming I can get the days off. Sigh...
Anyway, put me down for a probable on the maxminis tournament. Unless it's overbooked, then I'd be happy to help ref/organize. I think for prize support I might bring some "my little Nightmares" that you may remember seeing pictures of after WF last year.
Reminder to con-goers: parking is expensive, bordering on exorbitant. I seem to recall last year it was $25 per day.
Oh, and if some of you guys could scrounge up some spare Epic cards from the kits and bring 'em, that'd be cool. :)

| Looking forward to the event! Going to see what I can wrassle for the prize pool, since I don't think my painting skills are quite up to "prize" caliber at the moment. ;)
What makes good prizes for the stash? I'm guessing that unbagged rares are inappropriate, just looking for some good guidelines. | | Thanks for the memories. :)

| Prizes: The lint out of your pocket may be appropriate (well, if that was where your repainted crested felldrade got stuck....).
Seriously, if you want to throw in a random unbagged rare into the pot, then SOMEONE will be happy to grab it.
At GenCon people were so generous that even the players who came in "last" got 3 chances to grab a prize.
Suggestions: Rares Boosters Repaints Custom Repaints Templates Pods of mini's (i.e. "Orcs" from the first 3 sets, Undead skeletons, etc.) exotic interesting items (like High test Micro Brews from Canada, THANKS PHRANK!) Books Chainmail figures
