Well maybe until I change it. But that sums up that we exterminate monsters. Good adventuring hook. In our downtime we can research monsters and the best ways at ridding the good people of their bothersome monster infestations! Although I still like Shadowdale Relic Hunters.

I am thinking that something slightly off the wall like the Purple Weasels might just work.
Compromise vote - Either the Order of the Purple Weasel or Company of the Purple Weasel.
I may be Cleric of Lathander, but I am an ex-merchant and know a thing or two about branding (never mind the fact that the family company went under while I was running it).

Feats: PowerAttack, Weapon Focus Longsword, Divine Grace, Lay on Hands
Skills: On my sheet. I took all the class skills in players handbook.
background history
Felix was born to a family of lonely fisherman - not a women in sight (mom issues)
Although there was 15 in the immediate family and Felix is the youngest or last to be born in
Year of the Crown 1351 same age as his Cleric friend. Felix has had memory problems
since birth and frequently forgets segments of his life after dire trauma. Hence he drinks to forget
he has a forgettfull memory.
His father and 13 brothers fish off a coastline that Felix cannot recall, - not that he wishes to! His
father is uncaring as the sea and rough as a barnacle on wood???? They run a successfull business
fishing both fresh water (river) and saltwater fish. Felix has a vague recollection of preferring the inland
waters as opposed to the open sea's. To avoid many a trip Felix would site that he was called to a higher
power, clerics would have need of him & his favorite ...Tis my religious Holiday!!! This earned him many
a beating to the point where he often did spend many a day in the company of Clerics at their Temple.
Sadly he would often be dragged kicking and screaming and would often make up many a tall tale to amuse
his father and brothers away from his shannigans!!!One particular Cleric of Lathander was kind to Felix and
gifted him with sound words of wisdom and an education.
One stormy night Felix could find no more excuses and disappeared down one of his favorite rivers. He was
lost with a group of adventurers and decided to see how far the river went. the year of the shield found
Felix helping to defend a family from bandits. Felix never felt more alive than in combat in the wilds - water be
damned despite his upbringing. Separated by distance and bodies Felix could not reach the families wagon in time to prevent the slaughter. His party was victorious in the end but not before the parents father and mother were dead. Felix's heart went out to the surviving sibilings, Gads what a tradegdy that sent him the chills. The unholy dead walked - Felix sought to comfort one lad inparticular Gawain Aranadan. Nothing would harm this boy and his family again - he swore it! Felix sought to avenge - although his cleric friends would frown on his desires - and he tracked the origin of the bandits. They were part of some bloody guild with a rarely seen dark evil symbol. Felix tracked there path from village to village, party to party...
...alas after much tracking he found his way home again...to a slaughtered home. His family ship was missing...his home in burning ruins..10 of his brothers slain....the Flounders were no more...who...Felix the Drunken Paladin was born. he wandered from port to port not recalling who his family was. Only his Cleric friend from before followed him to lend assistance occasionally. But soon he too had to move on even when Felix could not...He slipped Felix a holy symbol before departing...Felix could not even recall his name. | |

We now know more about Felix. A Flounder even.
As to naming the group, it seems I am losing that vote.
I will live with group consensus, but I agree (scarily) with Felix and foresee trouble in the future.

| Felix Flounder background history cont...
To earn his keep Felix would hire himself out to any Adventuring Party that needed him.
If he remembered anything he would drown his sorrows, go adventuring or do stand up
comedy in the local pub when the gold was sparse. He gained many an ale by playing the
fool, perhaps he should have gone into comedy!!!Gads!!!
One day the year of the Tankard (1370) a very good year to be a drunk Felix
helped to defend an inland village from a plague of frogs and undead fellows. He remembered
nothing other than wielding a dagger that sung out to him to skin frogs!!! The bandits, undead and
frogs all had a connection!!! They seemed very familar...too familar!!!
His holy symbol seemed to beckon to him...that or the millions of dead frog carcasses. He tracked
them and this mysterious groups of bandits...a dark evil symbol came to mind...along with a recollection
of a grieving boy he could not place...but this was long ago!!! His trackings took him along to
Shadowdale...where he was out of funds if not for the generous nature of a somewhat familar trading
company on its last legs. The Temple of Lathander was strangely familar and a welcomed refuge.
For a time year of wild magic 1372 Felix practiced his fighting skills, adventured, entertained
for tankards and befriended a certain young Gawain Aranadan. The boy...nay the man was some how
very familiar yet Felix could not place it...they trained together and studied together. Gawain did not
take to Felix at first, but they soon became fast friends...sort of. Gawain did not usually care for his
friends drunken antics!!!
One day in Shadowdale...Felix's old cleric family friend returned from the coast. Felix remembered
everything...with a vengence! The old friend carried news of the bandits whereabouts and latest
wrongdoings!!! Felix, his friend and a few brave souls would storm their lodgings deep within a
dungeon. Finally the bandits and their undead followers would be brought to justice!!!! Although...
what did the frogs have to do with it...Gads...they would suffer too from his frog bane dagger
stained with their green amphibian blood...(this stuff writes itself!!!!)
Felix, his friend and a few daring Lathanders would storm them and bring them to justice!!!
Gawain knew nothing other than a few of his closests friends would never return except for
Felix! Dragging himself back to Shadowdale covered in frog guts and blood he could remember
nothing. He was not himself and seemed even more addicted to the sweet tankard! He acted
out more a fool than ever to lose himself in a drunken stupor! His fighting skills, memory, prayers,
...all seemed slightly tainted or off or dulled...
Felix is only happy with an ale in his hand and Gawain by his side...Perhaps one day his memory
will return but until then...Shadowdale is his home and the Clerics of Lathander and Gawain...
he owes everthing that he is...and he does not....know....why....? | |

| Now that I think about it, The Monsterminators may not be the best name. We haven't really exterminated enough monsters. Maybe when we reach a high enough level. But it looks like it is a commited entry.
I'd vote for Shadowdale Relic Hunters if it was made available again.......
But from the above list, here's my 2 bits:
The Company of the Loot (I like it, but can't market this to prospective employers)
The Monsterminators (Sigh....what was I thinking.....)
The Company of Light (Still kinda righteous, plu we don't glow in the dark)
The Righteous Rhymers (Good name if were we all bards)
Shadowdale Light Fellowship (Kinda righteous also)
Arcanite Raising Blades (What's an Arcanite? I don't think I am one)
So my vote is for Shadowdale Light Fellowship. I has Shadowdale in the title, that I like. I like that we're a fellowship (lotr reference is good). I can live with light in this context. But I think I'll keep referring to us as the Shadowdale Relic Hunters.

| After reading Scott's take on the names...yeah I see his points - especially about future employers. Company of the Lute works with one Bard with a lute. Do we have one? Unless we have one I am thinking of changing my vote if possible Mike!
How about Shadowdale Relic Hunters if we can go back to that or the Shadowdale Lite Fellowship! Our group can either be heavy or lite!!! Or light meaning seekers of truth and justice which goes wiht Felix just fine!
Can't wait to play mike - any XP bonsus cause I am kinda starvin for it - speaking of which I still haven't eaten yet | |

| Looks like the top 2 choices are Company of the Loot and the Shadowdale Light Fellowship. The DM personaly favors the second.
So I'm going to reset the voting between these 2 choices. Don't forget the winner wither Cutter or Felix get a potion of Cure Moderate Wounds.
You may declare your final offical vote thusly: Egads, we should be the _____! For everyone who votes I'll add 1 more charge to your wand of cure light wounds.

| Shouldn't you guys actually accomplish something before you get a name? Seems kind of boastful to call yourselves the Company of Light when all you've managed to do is get the plague, contract lycanthropy, and be captured by goblins. 
Along that vein, isn't one of you supposed to be recording the history of the company of fruity lathanderites? Where are my stories dammit.
Oh, and there's a bunch of ice, snow, sleet, and generally crappy weather here in Madison. I wish I was in Winnipeg. Unless the weather sucks there too, then it's sorta irrelevent. | |

Nico has about 40 minutes to pipe in on the group name....

| No vote from Nico. The Shadowdale Light Fellowship wins by a vote of 3-2. Makes sense as Felix wouldn't be there to discuss things as you hole up in the former smelly Goblin lair.
And thus as Cutter pokes around in a pile of Goblin refuse he discovers a carved ivory wand that Gawain can identify as your wand of cure light wounds with 41 charges. Hoozah.
And for having the wining name chosen Nico gets the potion of cure moderate wounds which he will no doubt hock for booze money.
