About that disputed trade thing, I have no idea what happened. I forget what mini I wanted to trade, but I put it up for trade, and Kithmaker responded offering a Clay Golem and Aspect of Lolth. This was awhile back, and I did not currently have the Lolth nor a second Golem. I did however get an offer from a Winnipegger for a Drider, he just wasn't 100% sure. I told Kith I would respond after I got a definitive answer. He suggested we exchange info anyways, so we did. I did end up trading for the Drider, so I sent him an email saying so, and that I didn't need to trade with him at that point. I don't know why, but Kith had sent me the minis nonetheless. 2 weeks later they arrived, and I sent them back. He has not yet received them from what I can gather, which would mean about 4 months I guess, which is absurd and obviously means they're not going to arrive. I put the exact information he sent me, so I don't know why they wouldn't have arrived. At this point I really don't know what to do. I got my Lolth from Nick, Boxing Kirby on the forums, and he can confirm that, and my second golem I ended up buying at Galaxies. I doubt I have a receipt for that was a long time ago, but I'm hoping someone would remember. My first Clay Golem, well I can't say for sure how I got that one, but I would have to guess from Nick aswell.

So although I feel terrible I don't know what to say. I mean what would a) I do with 3 Golems and 2 Lolths? There's no feasable bands that would ever call for that and b) 2 minis that Iscammed, but never use in skirmish, and never tried to trade. I mean other then Nick (who quit) and my little brother, the only people I know are you guys, and obviously i haven't tried to drop wither of those minis on anyone, nor offered them online.

He did however not recieve them, so I would be quite upset aswell. But those are easy to get figs, I mean many of you have them for trade or for sale in stores, and both have very little skirmish value (and obviously I don't rpg), IF I was trying to scam him, you'd think I'd put a little more planning into it.

I think I just plain might have to send him 2 other figs. I mean I never will use my Lolth, but the Clay Golem kinda sucks because I like dual Golems for 200.

What, mortal?

You don't require any elementals. When a character dies, he dies doing damage to minis around him. I would not say a joke, but designed to have some fun with the game.

Is Drider banned? I haven't really heard where that went and if it's in effect and whatnot. Is so, /cry, I don't know how I'll be able to win, I mean that means I'm down to what... SKILL?

Just kidding of course, I just gotta get me a ZWD is he is I suppose. Maybe I'll crack open a mounted pally and trade him for an arm and a leg...

So just to sum up, is just a normal 200pt game, Drider being banned? Also, what time do they start >

Hello all,

OK, my Have/Want list is now up to date (pretty much). I am still debating on whether or not I will keep more or less of some specific figures, so there still could be some changes.

I would prefer local trades first to save on postage.

Cheers [:)]

Hi,

I have a post in the trade forum with my Angelfire list. My H/W list is not up to date. I too would prefer to trade locally before going out of province.

Thanks,

Dan

PS Omand - I Like your Barbed Devils take a look at my list and let me know if you're interested.

Hello,

My list is now totally up to date, iwth a further four booster added. Just going to trade now to finishe the set and fill up my needs/wants.

Highlights/Lowlights of pulls (including pre-release), 30 boosters total:

2 Ghaele Eladrin
2 Thri-Kreen Barbarians
3 Celestial Pegasi
5 Weretigers
3 Barbed Devils
2 Orog Warlords
2 Divine Champions of Corellon
6 Large Air Elementals

Everything else was pretty much within expected norms

I only need 12 minis for my current wants, so I don't expect too much of a struggle completing things.

Sweet sweet minis. The half case I got for winning the abbreviated campaign(or whatever you wanna call it) had 6 new rares for me.

Hezrou
Archmage
Mounted Paladin
Chain Devil
Orc Wolf Shaman
Ulmo Lightbringer

Now on to the full cases. Mmmm, plastic...

Meh, I'm a little disappointed in my cases. I didn't get the Large Copper Dragon or the Djinni, but I have 3 orc wolf shamans and 3 orog warlords along with 2 mina's. Only 1 stone giant, efreeti, lots of trolls though. I think I've got 6 or 7 trolls, so that's cool.

Yeah, I am pretty happy with the two Stone Giants I pulled. Very nice sculpts. [:D]

Barbed Devils, well, I keep changing my mind about how many I want. Need to have trading fodder to complete the set.

As to your pulls, it looks like your luck with Orog and Wolf Shaman was like my luck with Celestial Pegasi. [:)]

I'd be willing to try it again but somebody will need a spare warband for me to use. I don't think I understand the rules good enough to build my own (though i should have enough minis to make a decent warband! [:D]).

OK, I am not that great at the skimrish game, but I will detail a few bands for you here on the boards and you can bring the cards and minis and then choose which band you want to use.

Hey there you guys, what is the format for thursday. I guess it dosen't really matter as long as it is 200 pts. I'll be there to make the trade with Dan anyways, but just say 200 and I will play to.

Isondaho,

It is 200 points for sure, although I am not entirely sure of the format. The calendar says that this Thrusday is "weenie" night with every mini only having 10 HP. Not exactly exciting to my mind, as matches will likely be short (I suppose that could be a good thing).

Of course, the schedule is no longer really up to date, as we switched things last week as well.

Personally, i'm looking to make an all Demon 200pt Warband (Doesn't matter how bad it sucks, I love themes). Any thoughts on the Hezrou as a commander. How about the Vrock, Abysal Skulker, Abysal Marshemellow, Quasit, Abysal Eviserator and dretch (did i miss one besides the Glab)?

The Hezrou worked well as a commander in the Angelfire Pre-release tournament from what I could tell. Lots of HP, fairly good AC and can deal out damage.

Vrock is an OK skirmish piece from what I know, but have never used one. Abyssal Skulker is new and not tested all that much. Abyssal Maws are still used in competitive bands. They are low cost attack pieces that screen the rest of your force. Never seen the Quasit or the Abyssal Eviscerator in skirmish use. The dretch is not really all that great of a skirmish piece as it is always out of command (or has been in the past).

The Hezrou is a tough SOB but he doesn't deal nearly the damage that other CE hitters do. At +11/+6 for 20/10 it's not too likely to scare things, and if you add the vrock it's 159 points for 20/10 and 15/15. On the flip side you get lots of hp and ac.

The dretch is interesting in that between the resistances and DR you have a nice shield unit to protect the rest of your warband. Although if you're going all demons, then the meat of your warband is just as likely to be able to protect themself against the 5 damage ranged attack and energy attacks.

The maw's a useful piece, but the abyssal eviscerator and quasit aren't going to get you very far.

Thanks for the games guys. My only concern is that i've never finished a game which kind of reduces the learning experience. Do you guys ever get together to skirmish and not do tournaments? I think i could learn a lot more if we actually finished a game and the opponent wasn't penalized for giving me advice (ie help to beat him when prizes are on the line). [:D]

Well,

On night's when we don't get four people for a skirmish then we generally play for fun. Even during the skirmishs we do play we are generally helpful, or try to be. If you want to see competition come on out to the next pre-release and see Norm and Richard fighting it out for "free" boosters. [:D]

Other than those opportunities, no we don't get together for casual games. Too busy with other things much of the time.

Of course, you could come out to a Thursday skimirsh and just watch things to learn strategy etc.

Cheers [:)]

I would love to play casually, the only reason I don't is that I can't find people to play with. I'm not a huge fan of tournaments (although winning more minis is always good) but mostly I just like to play, and tournaments seems to be the best (only?) way to do that.

That said, vassal is a wonderful tool. Lets you play online against a lot of new people, and it's free. And if you live in North America, there's almost always people kicking around in the evenings. I imagine it might be harder to get a game if you live in Europe or what not.

That's too bad, and i was actually getting kind of motivated to play some more! [:)] Most of the guys were pretty helpful but you can't help but feel you're reducing their fun by slowing the game down by asking questions and taking forever to read the abilities when you're limited to 3-4 rounds. I don't think I would learn much from watching skirmish tournaments without asking a bunch of questions that would detract from the game. As for warband construction, I may be able to put together a straight 200pt format but it sounds like you have many variants that I'm not sure what they mean (Weeny night, assault, demon night). I'll probably have to limit myself to non-tournament nights until i get a better handle on the game.

Well if you're ever in the mood my roommate and I would be up for some educational skirmish (at Gameknight, my place or whereever). We can throw together some warbands to play against and you can pass on your wisdom as to how things work in the world of DDM.

Dan

Hey,

All I can say is that if you ever play me I am generally willing to help out and it does not frustrate me in the least. [:)]

What skill I have in the skimish game (and some might argue it is not much) has been gained simply by playing at Gameknight and in the Pre-release tournaments.

Cheers [:)]

Indeed. We'll have to work something out. I'll talk to Scott/Mark this week at Gameknight and see about getting some just for fun nights. Either once a week, or maybe rotate since they have tournaments on both Thursdays and Saturdays have it where one week Thursday is a tournament and Saturday is just for fun play and the next week Saturday would be the tournament and Thursday would be just for fun.

And like Chris, I'm happy to answer any questions while we're playing.

Hey there, I would be willing to get together at someones house and play some fun games. If Dan has the room to set up a map or two, We can finish some games and not have a time limit. Thats the best way to play and learn.
