They came up as "do not sell"? That is FUNNY.

As a former Wal-Mart employee, this is what the computer does when it detects an item that has been mistakingly put on the shelves to early, or when they have an item that has been recalled on the shelves. And there's no use arguing about it, I know, I tried when they accidently put out a few DVD about 3 days to early one time. Just doesn't work.

Considering How Hasbro and some other companies REALLY get territoral over breaking release dates i can see why, there were HUGE fines that Hasbro was going to level if people broke ATOC stuff early, and many companies (including WotC) has those polices ranging from not selling to you anymore, to just fines.

You know you could've told them if they were on the floor they had to sell them.

Doesn't work. If the computer system tells them they can't sell it, they're not allowed. It comes straight from the home office. They can get into all kinds of trouble if a barcode sales shows up in the system when it's not supposed to. All they can do is apologize, and get a manager for you to complain to if you want, but the odds are, they're not going to sell it. I have seen a couple exceptions, but they're very very rare indeed.

I agree. It is not worth arguing about it. They will also be everywhere soon enough. BTW, They same store had a case of starters on the pallets this morning along with a bunch of lego ROTS stuff. I did not even try to get at them as it would be the same result. At least I know where they are going to be on the 2nd. I can wait.

LOL I already tried the Lego thing here. A collector told me about the forcing them to sell'em to you or make them take them all back to the back. I'm not the kind of guy to cost some one thier job over a tiny mistake though.

I got all my RotS LEGO sets already. They were even on sale 20% off, they were having a sale on all LEGOs that week. I dont think the boxes actually say RotS, so thats why they got put on the shelf.

I went to the self-checkout lane, just in case they wouldnt scan. They all scanned fine, except the AT-RT. Noer did they come up as 20% off, but they gave it to me once I asked them about it.

Granted this was not Wal-mart, but a competitor of theirs that is regional to the MI/OH/IN area.

I picked up a case tonight at Wal-Mart...I had 2 cases ordered...but they were there and calling to me....

I asked about star wars ROTS boosters at a Lubbock Wal-Mart.
This is what the guy told me "Right...Your real funny...We don't have that $h!+ here" Nice guy I hope that I have him in one of my classes next Fall.

Why wait until then? I am sure cursing at a customer is right up there on the "DON'Ts" list. A phone call to a manager or a letter to corporate (or both [)]) may bring swifter justice, if not as personally satisfying [}:)]
