Yuzzem are a race that was introduced in the novel "Splinter of the Mind's Eye".

It took place between episodes IV and V.

You can also get a comic book adaptation at your local comic store in trade paperback.

I dont know who is in the Revenge of the Sith movie....but I would bet my entire mini collection that Yuzzems will not be in RotS.
George has an aversion to using characters, aliens, planets ect that he did not invent himself in his movies.

Well. A large common ape man is nice. I would have prefered a large common robot of some sort. But still it is a start.

Yeah they are 2 different creatures.

I go all Star Wars geek on the subject on the General Discussion thread called "SWM goes beyond DDM limits - Large common!"

It shows what happens when to many people contribute to Star Wars without coordinating.

There are two planets in the SW Galaxy called Byss to :)

They are more Feline than Ape

The Yuzzem are from my child hood man, i remember reading about them while we waited for ESB.

Yuzzem
Category: Alien Races
Planet of Origin: Ragna III

this race of fur-covered humanoids was native to the planet Ragna III. They were feline in stature, with long snouts and tremendous strength. They awee tall aliens with a tempermental disposition. Their massive arms reach all the way to the ground, even when standing, and ended in huge hands. They were reported to have the strength and stamina of three men, and also suffered from long, intense hangovers when they get drunk. They were enslaved by the Empire and used in labor camps. Luke and Leia team up with two Yuzzem after escaping from Grammel's prison on Mimban.
