Those scenes got cut?

I thought they were kind of important scenes in the book.

It is pretty funny...she made the cut for VR but didn't make the cut for the flick.

A good deal of the Rares and VRs from RotS either did not show, or simply had their parts shaved from minor to "who was that again?". Personally I liked getting Antilles, although I felt he and Bail should have been usable as rebellion figures as well. Were their any characters from the movie that they should have done but didn't? I would have liked to see a Chancellor Palpatine figure myself, maybe even a better scupt for Kit Fisto.

Mon Mothma was cut from the film but is still mentioned in the credits. Her scenes were very important. She was the most vocal senator showing they did not lik ethe direction the Republic was going.

In the final cut she isnt in it and it seems all the senators except Bail and Padme support Palpatine.

I also dont recall any Utopin Soldiers....only Tion Meddon and some non-combatant Utopins behind him.

I also noticed that Anakin, Sith Aprentice is a bad name choice for the mini. It should have been Darth Vader, Sith Aprentice.

I really missed these scenes, which I feel would have helped the movie:

(Quoting from that link)
# Genevieve O'Reilly is "perfect" as Mon Mothma. - OS
# Mon Mothma's costume will have some similarities to her Return of the Jedi outfit and she will be recognizable. -TB
# In one scene, Palpatine leads the way as Senators and Representatives follow closely: Bail Organa, Jar Jar Binks, Orn Free Taa, Mon Mothma, Tundra Dowmeia and his new aide. Fang Zar, Giddean Danu, Malé-Dee, Nee Alvar, Chi Eekway, Terr Taneel, and Fema Baab are there as well, along with the as-yet-unnamed Mon Calamari Senator. - OS
# Bail Organa will meet with fellow dignitaries in his offices on Coruscant. Here, political notables like Senator Mon Mothma, Senator Fang Zar and Senator Padmé Amidala begin developing contingency plans in case the unthinkable happens. - OS
# Bail and Mon Mothma have bigger parts compared to the other Senators. - PH
# In the Senators' meeting in Padmé's apartment, Mon Mothma sits beside Padmé on the sofa. - OS

I simply don't understand what would have been the big deal about adding 30 minutes to the movie. Why bother cutting the scenes? Has anyone every heard of complaints about a Star Wars movie being too long?

I love how Lord of the Rings completely ignored Hollywood conventions and went as long as they felt it should.

How about more of the Seperatists, sure they had a lesser role but I still wanted the Viceroy of the Trade Federation as a mini.

It is necessary to cut scenes from all star wars movies. That way ten years later they can be added in a newly released DVD (or whatever we are watching in 10 years time) titled
The Complete Star Wars Set the way the creator had intended if the producer hadn't insisted on the cuts.

Yeah that was very cool of Peter Jackson. I think many movies may be entirely too short these days.

Thats not 100% true. Peter wanted the movies longer but New Line insisted that the movie cannot exceed 3 hours. It would chase away people who didnt want to see such a long movie. Plus remember that the longer the movie is..the less number of times it can be played a day so that effects ticket sales.

If you time the theatrical versions of the movuies they are 3 hours to the second (at lest Fellowship and Two Towers is...RotK may be longer and New Line gave in).

Thast why PJ released the special editions.

having just seen the movie. *insert dance of joy here* I'm most interested in the mounted Obi-Wan that's supposed to be in Universe. i take it he's mounted on the critter he rode in the movie (what else?).

Was the name of the creature mentioned in the novel? Does anyone know it? I just loved that guy.

My friend didnt care about the younglings but he got chocked up when Boga bit it.

Boga is supposed to be a VR mini because she and Obi-Wan are a unique huge :(

I just saw the movie for the second time, and during Padme's funeral, there is a close up shot of a woman in the procession. The way the camera focuses on her, makes it see like she is important, but she had no othere scenes in the movies. Made me wonder whether or not this was Mon Motha. Guess I'll have to wait for the deleted scenes on dvd...

Yeah, the younglings were Jedi- they made their choice [xx(]

Boga was just being a loyal mount (Particularly for being a rental). And she was even cooler after reading the novel. She and her lovely signing voice will be missed [V]

But I do care about the younglings... enough to mod a Baby Boba with a lightsaber... hmm, maybe some DDM Halflings too [}:)]

This is another case where the novel gives you a much fuller picture of what was going on. I highly recommend reading it, if just for the thought process during the duel with Dooku.

Yeah, I'm pretty curious about what extras a writer can bring to the movie now that I've seen it. Who actually wrote the adaptation?

Matthew Woodring Stover.
Also wrote Shatterpoint (aka Mace Windu meets Apocalypse Now [:p]) and a NJO novel.
Borrowed it from the local Public Library.

I'm pretty sure that's the same person. Just after her close up, they do an immediate closeup of jar-jar and the gungun leader.
