Pathetic Earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void - without the slightest inkling of who or what is out here. If you had known anything about the true nature of the universe - anything at all - you would have hidden from it in terror.

I'm pretty sure they are not going the Wiz Kids route, SWM is a cash cow for them; they don't want to kill it. I'm sure the distribution should be same as Gol, with the VR catagory added for extra annoyance.

What, huge rare in every box? That sounds odd... better ask this at WotC boards so someone official may see it, and correct if it's not true. But if it is... [:D]

I dunno. From the ad I'd think they are planning to go the GoL road. 5 huge rares and 5 huge very rares (technically since there is only one in a box it cannot be an uncommon since uncommons come two in a box).

That would mean in theory 15 boosters buy you 2 of each rares and 1 of each very rare. I know not likely to happen but it would be conceptually possible.

But to say there is a Rare in every box...doesnt that make them all the same frequency?

In marketing speak it may well be. [)]

Heck, under the SWM rules it would be too- Rare is in the name (ala all our "Trooper" Commander Effects...) [:p]

Well, we got clarified - probably [:)]

Huges seems to have been mixed to the normal rarity groups - I don't know how they are doing it, but seems like acceptable method to me.

What's strange is the number of huges WizO_the_Hutt mentioned - 9. He's not sure or we still don't know everything about huges...

Now, I'm not certain of this (I haven't verified any of this, so I could be completely wrong), but I think the normal distribution applies here -- you're just guaranteed that one of them will be Huge. For example, if you got a rare or very rare Huge, you'd get normal-sized figures for the 2 uncommons and 4 commons. If you got an uncommon Huge, you'd get normal-sized rare or very rare, 1 normal uncommon, and 4 normal commons. Given the number of Huges in this set (9, IIRC), I think this shouldn't make the distribution too different from what we're used to.

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=swminis/article/universeannouncement
"In addition to containing the biggest Star Wars miniatures yet, with a guaranteed Huge rare in every booster, the Star Wars Miniatures Universe expansion is also the first set to draw from all of the films.

So you can have Darth Maul face off against Darth Vader and then have the winner take on Obi-Wan on the Boga.

Who's the ultimate winner? You.

The Universe expansion set include the first-ever Huge figures for the Star Wars Miniatures game. The set contains 60 new miniatures drawn from the entire Star Wars universe.

Each Huge Pack contains 1 huge figure and 6 medium and/or large figures selected randomly from the 60-miniature set.

Release Date: August 19, 2005"

My only concern with the wording "a huge and 6 medium or large figures in each box is it doesn't specify a huge, a rare or very rare and five other figures in each box. I'm sure that is what they meant but it would be pretty scary if they went the whizkids road at this point.

The August 19th release date sucks. That means I won't be able to get any when I go home on vacation.

Robert you'll find some way [:I] as I am drooling over this also. Being sombody who collects DDM only. The huges are looking pretty cool. The only problem is, it interferes with AF amd my vacation too! D'oh!

I thought a little more about this distribution method, and don't like it that much. It means that if you are lucky enough to get an At-St or even Rancor, you'll only get a few troopers with that. It WOULD be ok if the cost was lower, but now it increases the cost of SWM rares and very rares even more high - and as you don't get normal rare/VR in a box where you would normally have gotten, that means the value of huge rares/very rares is increased even more - essentially you've paid that $20 (or whatever you pay) for that one fig, plus a few lesser ones (which surely will look like nothing compared to that huge rare).

Another update on the matter - previous information wasn't accurate:

I got an answer back on the rarity issue:

There you go. So, it is possible to end up with two VRs (one Huge, one normal) in the same booster.
