 | | 11/16/2005 12:27 AM | Alert | No idea about padmé/gungan really...but in the case of Boba Fett, i'd point out that he might not be short printed, but simply printed less than what people would want him to be :).
ARC troopers, human mercenaries, elite clone troopers...those are uncommons that seems to be hard to get. Their stats are good, though, so again it might come down to the fact that people want them more than other uncommons.

 | | 11/19/2005 5:54 PM | Alert | Maybe it's a geograpical thing.
Padme's were nowhere to be found here in the 4 or so FLGS in and around Atlanta GA.
I have yet to see the Huge Obi on Lizard.... Nobody I know has one or has seen one.
The harbinger Gnoll had to be a "short print". Nobody had many.
I just think SWM has the same thing maybe not as bad??>
Could just be randon wierdness.......grin | | Cheers !! ----THOR (Atlanta GA) Kauke@Juno.com (E-Mail me for a current Trade List) www.maxminis.com/hwlist.asp?user=Thor

 | | 11/22/2005 4:45 AM | Alert | It is very unlikely that WotC would "short-print" some pieces. It is just the "luck of the draw", and geographical spread of all the minis produced.
However, what I didn't realise before is that both DDM and SWM are short runs indeed... I knew about the end of Harbinger and Dragoneye, but now it is becoming harder to find even Aberrations and Death Knell... and SWM sets are all invisible on the shelves (well, some lone, empty booster marks the place, and that's all...). I'm losing all hopes to ever complete any set of SWM, being short of 6 RS, 3 CS, a dozen RotS and at least 20 Universe (though I only miss one huge, the barc speeder). Perhaps that's regional too, because I don't think SWM has a crazy fan base in Belgium...
Trading is much harder than for DDM, too. That could also add up to that feeling of 'short-prints'. For instance, people keep on trying to get my Boba Fett because they can't get one, while I can't get the VRs I'm looking for... though I've got most iconic VRs I wanted (except Windu and sabre-toting Palps).

Actually, I always find distribution weird when buying boosters of anything. When I stopped buying individual boosters for boxes and cases, the feeling disappeared almost altogether. However, the VR thing from SWM requires you to buy many, many cases before shaking off the bad feeling - and it leaves you with another bad feeling (the well-known Empty Wallet Syndrom)

I prefers cases too, and only buy the occasional booster as an impulse buy.

I usually get just enough cases (at a very steep discount) to complete the set if no VR/R is a duplicate. I then take the invariable duplicates and trade them for what ever I am missing or buy what I need as singles on eBay if the price (& shipping) is fair.
I really was excited when Heroclix moved to "clixbricks" (1/4th of case, shrinkwrapped) but the distribution on them has been really bad. (Some with 6+ Uniques, some with zero).
