| Is hard to say because i have many favorites faction but the best without fringes is the empire, very versatile and excellent stats.

Want really great Command Effects? Empire has got the best.
Want a heavy hitting nonunique that can take advantage of those great CEs? May I present the AT-ST.
Want cheap, effecient troops? The humble Stormtrooper.
Want a master tactician to lead them all? We got Thrawn.
You say lightsabers are your thing? Well as long as you don't mind red blades*, we got the best: Vader Jedi Hunter. Or some nice non uniques like Dark Side Marauders, Sith Witchs or Adepts. And we have a power battery named Palpatine to keep em charged.
Lastly, look at the eras. What faction (besides Fringe) more than any other? Empire, baby. Empire [:D]

| | Separatist is a nice faction for himself without fringes, they have lots of firepower at cheap cost, and excellent field CE as double attack with droids that hit for 20 (SBD) and 30 (Dwarf spider) . | |

| LOL I always play the "good guy". When my brother and I were growing up Star Wars me the heroes him the villians, G.I.Joe me the Joes him Cobra. KotOR 1 and 2 I just can't finish it as a Darksider. So without over stepping my limited thought cycle. I'd say I used then in this order.
1) Republic
2) Rebels
3) Fringe (only because we just got NR)
4) New Republic
I've played the evils a few times but won't list'em. I'd like to see NR get more pieces as I've mostly been reading books on that time frame for awhile. For now the order I used them is probably the same as I like the factions at this time. Rebels and New Republic just don't have enough pieces without combining fringe. | |

My two favorite seppy droids- Destroyers and Battle Droid Officer.
Destroyers are just nasty, and Shields can be incredibly demoralizing. And if they get damaged, they are quick enough enough to get back to Wat to be healed.
And a BDO just makes everything better- Viper, Hailfire etc. And since Fire Control isn't a CE, it stacks with the other +4 droid CEs.
But Empire still remains the better faction [)] | | | |

| | That's very true maybe that's why I don't mind using them. You need to overwhelm the enemy and also not lose your force quickly at the same time. Where as the Rebels you have to use almost all uniques to stand a chance. Though I still prefer the good guys to the bad. :) | |

While there are a lot of good Rebel uniques (which really fits the Faction's theme), there are some nice rebel U/Cs:
Elite Hoth Trooper (30 HP, 20 Damage)
Rebel Commando (Really nice with Xizors CEs)
Rebel Pilot (just add Wedge)
Dressellian Commando (14pts gets you 50 HP, 20 Damage & Stealth. And if there is a Xizor on your side, Accurate Shot)

| | Personally I like the Vong strictly for they potential. Thier sculpts look terrible and I don't like the NJO end of the Star Wars storyline but I think they are strong and if they ever get more minis they will be the powerhouse faction. | |

indeed... but i wish it keep as a poor faction! i rather to see imperial or Separastist hyper combos, than a deadly Vong combo.

Actually rebels plays the better with fringes! that´s a great true! (maybe that´s one of his skills), Many people thinks that rebels are not good as other factions actually i do.
Rebel UC are pretty good but most people rather to place rares... just a generalization | |

| At present, Seperatists all the way.
I find the Republic boring, though that may change with the new set. Empire I like as it has some cool pieces but it is over used in my area and I prefer to keep variety. Rebels can be fun but their non-uniques strike me as lackluster.
Seperatists have a lot of synergy and their uniques and droids have a few interesting abilities.
I also really enjoy the Vong though I dislike their present dependance on Fringe figures. When they finally get some new figures and are more playable I think they will be my favourite faction. They only have four figures but they already have a lot of interesting abilities that are unique to their faction and both of their rares are really different from the other factions rares. I'm really disappointed they they aren't going to be the the next two sets, I think it was poor judgement to bring out factions with few figures in their starting set and then not support them for over a year afterwards. They should at least be playable. | |

People then came back and said how great the Vong played in game. Hehe I remember when Rob said there would be no Vong in CotF people were shocked. Part of that whole can'y satisfy everyone all the time thing. | |

Debatable.
While Grans are cheaper, they have no range.
Abyssians can get into shooting postion in stealth and inflict damage before exploding.

In 200 points my favorite is the Empire, though the amount of synergy generated by the Seperatists faction is alot of fun and very effective too. | |

| I do play with rebels in Tournaments and leagues, for 100 and 200 pts
But my favorite still is the Republic (now with the COTF troop Booster) and second the empire. | |
