| Well republic non-jedi characters and troops were not competitive at all, clone troopers with low Defense and low Hp but a nice damage were just complement for Jedis. For each enemy shoot you lose a 9 pts clone trooper, if you are lucky enough you used elite clone troopers that have a little more defense and well 20 hp, but i guess that times will pass away, now with the clone oficers.
Now we have commander Gree

Attack: +10
Damage: 20
Special Abilities: Unique, Order 66, Mobile Attack, Rapport, and Speed 8
Commander Effects:
Your squad may include non-Unique Wookiees of any faction.
Each Soldier or Trooper follower can move 2 extra squares at the end of its turn.
Characters in your squad with Order 66 and Mobile Attack (including Clone Commander Gree) do not provoke attacks of opportunity.

This guy gives clone more versatility by themselves, he have many good points to make him playable at all in all games:
1- His cost! Lots of good abilities at cost of 2 clone troopers, and he even get rapport that sure make him cheaper!!!
2- He is a decent troopers that lives 40 hp and could deliver 20 pts of damage, and have mobile attack to prevent being killed by Acurate Shoot.
3- Speed 8 that could make him more useful for retreating and counter ofensives.
4- Two extra squares at the end of the turn!!! that´s really power, if you played leia senator in rebel factions you know what i´m talking, shoot and complete hide!!! Clones get a boost! and they don´t need to be at 6 squares!!!
5- Give other clone commanders with mobile attacks the ability to stay away from those tactic fliying characters that want to provoque AoO, i wonder which NEW character receive this.
6- CFX you could bring Wookies, not a particular good ability because good wookies are from the republic, but nice enough to consider if new wookies come.
Looking at this lots of good points, i guess that clone armies will be more competitive, let´s wait for bakara and cody. I´m really excited about that because i love clone armies but before they were not competitive at all.

| | The extra move action of two squares is indeed a powerfull ability. Interesting that it includes both Troopers and Soldiers. That will end up helping not only the Clones but several other Republic and Fring figures as well. | |

| Cody would have Flight and maybe would hit a little stronger, i wonder which CFX it would have. Nice to have flying troopers! With the ARC trooper.
Bakara is my emotion, i like the sculpt (to go with elite clone troopers) But i don´t have any idea how it would be. | |

i dont think there will be another ARC trooper but it would be awesome if they made another one. i like how strong they are and their pose | |

| I hope to see more clone elite troopers, those like the red one in clone wars cartoon with double attack and a nice CFX for other clones to go with the blue ones.

| Now that we have the set released we could give a strong opinion, as i see the stats i figure out thar republic received a strong boost, first for the clone commanders and for the republic commandos, sev is one of the betters to have many in game.
What are your impresions about this? Which is your favorite? Cody, bakara, Gree???
Joining with the new jedi Weapon master, now is really possible to play clone troopers squads with no unique characters, and win! [:D] | |

| I like cody, for his ability to snipe, i really wanted a good sniping character
Bantha=come on to big too snipe
Nikto=not high enough of an attack, always gonna miss
Naboo Soldier=Again a low attack and is usually gonna miss
Cody=Isn't too big and can get behind cover to snipe also has a high enough attack to hit people while sniping | |
