| I dont have the $$ to buy cases of CotF so Im going to pick up a booster every week or so and thats it.
I purchaced my first and only booster today and hoped Id get a VR.
Of all the R and RV on CotF...Wich would be the Lamest and Least Cool mini?

| | Hehe I could agrue a good case for the Octuptarra also. Though I'll admit I'm biased and always will be(to anything Star Wars). :) The Oct has a nice Triple attack ability and at +7/20(at 31 pnts) throw in a Battle droid Officer and your banging out 3 attacks at +11 for 20 dmg. | |

| Well rares do get somewhat de-vauled by the VR system, I'd wait a month and then see what the going price online is.

| Well I bought 6 boosters and got 2 VRs, but proably the lamest 2: HK47 and Ulic Qel Droma.
As for the rares pretty happy with the ones i got. Windu,Horn, hoth cannon, 2 clone commanders. I got extra clone commander from the store owner who opened a box to see what they were like :)
I agree Mas Amedda is pretty close to crappiest rare :) | |

| I cant believe you guys Ullic stinks now yes buut coem next set hes goign to be absolutely bad@%$ and even still hes a tank with 23 defense that aint bad folks
I havent taken a good enough look at the set to be able to say which are bad rares/very rares however fro mwhat ive seen the luke i weak in comparison to universe luke (when you think about it luke has the stats of like republc commander sev (well at least the fact that they are both +9 attack so cant hit much of the big guys worth crap | |

| Ulek has a great commander effect when bounty hunters are in his warband....The next set is called "Bounty Hunters"...You do the math....He will rule in a few months.
Anyway I dont want to part with Mas Anedda...I still want one of each...I would just hope Id get better ones first. The sooner you get a mini the more likely you will get it as a dupe.
Id rather have a dupe of Darth Maul or Darth Sideous as a rare than Mas Amedda...Easier to trade y'know?

Nah...When I initially typed up the thread it was more of a "Why didnt I get a more popular character that people seem to drool over such as anyone named Darth".
So yeah I feel much better knowing hes good in skirmish and he has good DDM crossover potential as anarchdevil or something. :)
Plus the wife got me 4 boosters yesterday as a surprise (so Im up to 5 boosters) and 2 of the 4 were VR :)

| Mas Amedda is actually an excelent rare. Making Commander abilities that were meant for within "6" now are accross the entire board.
General Windu being able to give triple attack to a Boba Fett, Anakin, and double attack to a Aaura Sing without the Gonk Power Droid, on the other side of the board. Since 150 now is going to be the "standard" DCI army, you are really looking at some interesting effects.
Plus the guy can be in Imperial squads as well, and he only costs 8 points. It will be interesting to see how this guy changes the game. | |

| well jsut imagine mas amedda mon mothma and windu together everryione when they die gets a final attack at +10 dmg and everyone gets an extra attack period
Imagine the jedi armies that will appear, or just think of what the new republic commandos can do with that extra attack

| for playability... I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Jacen Solo
Force Ascetic... taking damage whenever another force user bites it... a "one shot" force power that is difficult to pull off right.. and the ability to bring in LEIA?
Now RPG and character wise he's great, a fig that reflects him in the NJO... but for skirmish??? I'm leaving this literal "momma's boy" in the case...

Lamest rare skirmish-wise is definitely NOT Mas Amedda. He has all the earmarks of the SWM equivalent of the Orcish Wardummer [:o]
Toss him in a room, lock the door (a couple of droids have that ability) and throw away the keys [:D]
Additionally, he can work quite well for a Tiefling or Archdevil in D&D [:D]
Lamest rare = Jacen Solo. My SWM friends that skirmish think he's completely worthless. My SWRPG group also thinks he's about worthless for RPG. It's a lose-lose situation [:D]

Glad to hear Mas Amedda is valued! I pulled two identical cases and one extra booster so I got three of him - which means I have two listed for trade in my SWM Trade Thread.
I pulled two HK-47's too, so if someone's interested, check my trade thread.
Unfortunately, I rarely get to SWM skirmish. Jacen may not be great for skirmish, but standard young Jedi are always good for RPG. From my price searches (not unexpectedly) the Sith VRs seem to be the most sought after.
Based just appearance, I would have to say that the Clone Commanders were the lamest. My two Bacara's look sort of bland (hmmmm, perhaps I shouldn't mention it since I am trying to unload one). Although I don't have a Gree, his stance looks a little silly to me (still, the collector in me wants one). So I would nominate Bacara and Gree as the two lamest rares.

Maul has 10 more HP while Vader has 2 more Defense and 2 more Attack. That means 80% of the time Vader is going to hit Maul, while Maul will only hit Vader 60% of the time. Clear winner here is Vader.
Special Abilities

So Maul has it better here...but rarely will a figure stay next to Maul and allow him to get his Quad off- Particularly Imperials, who are likely to have a Probe or Thrawn. And Maul is in a faction that has no initive control.
Force Powers
Vader has 25% more force points, is able to attack at range, and has block- so when Maul finally does hit, Vader has a good chance to negate it. Yes, Lightsaber Assualt is nice, but Maul can only do that or Sith Rage 3 times.
I am not saying Maul is a bad figure, but I certainly think Vader 'stacks up' to him- and we haven't mentioned that Vader is cheaper and has a CE that can really powerup the rest of his squad.

| | I rather like the new Vader myself. His CFX is a nice varient on his stater set predecessor. The sculpt does look much nicer in person. I know the camera is suposed to add ten pounds to you, but the gallery pictures make him look skinnier than he actually is. | |

I thought you were comparing vader to maul, not empire to seperatists. I like vader's sculpt better than maul's, just because maul looks a little fragile there. I would say that I would be much happier getting maul then vader. I would say he is all around better. I also think that neither of them are the lamest rare, I think it's got to be Luke. | |
