| I am running this large scale event at Millenium Games In Rochester NY. Here's the rules that I've come up with!
Episode 3: Battle over Coruscant (Episode 3: Battle over Coruscant)
General Grievous has Captured Chancellor Palpatine! Mace Windu has ordered Obi-wan and Anakin to rescue him. Take part in this epic battle and Rescue the Chancellor! Teams are made up of 100pt squads.
Factions: Republic / Separatist
Republic Limitations: The Republic must include Obi-wan, Anakin and R2D2. Uniques can include unique Clones, and unique jedi. HOWEVER, unique Jedi cannot include Yoda or Mace. No other uniques (padme, Bail, etc) can be used. Only 1 copy of each unique is allowed. No huges or fringe.
Separatist Limitations: Only Grievous and Dooku can be used, no other uniques. Only Droids can be used for the rest of the force. No huges or fringe.
Special Rules and situations:
Darth Sidious (clone strike figure) will be provided for “Chancellor Palpatine”. He does not activate on his own, and can only move if there is an adjacent character. If there is an adjacent character, they can move Palpatine. He would then move when that character moves. He cannot be moved if a character from both factions are adjacent to him. He cannot be targeted, though “splash” effects like grenades and situational damage (see below) can damage him. If he dies, the scenario ends, with the Separatists winning. He has 60 hps to start, and a speed of 6. He cannot be made to run. When you first become adjacent to Palpatine, your movement ends. You cannot move and then “leave” him behind. You must start and end your turn with him adjacent to you. He can only move 6 squares a round. “No handoffs”
Situational Damage: At the Start of Round 5, the ship lurches and everyone within 5 squares of the edge of the map receives 10 pts of damage, save 6.
At the Start of Round 10, incoming missiles hit the ship and everyone within 5 squares of the edge of the map receives 10 pts of damage, save 11.
At the Start of round 15, if the Republic has control of Palpatine, then the ship is broadsided by a republic cruiser and spirals towards the planet. Anyone within 5 squares of the edge of the map receives 10 pts of damage, save 16. Anyone within 10 squares of the edge receives 10 damage, save 6.
At the End of round 20 the ship explodes. End Game.
Play will be on 4 maps joined together for one massive playing field. Maps will be provided.
Objectives:
Republic Primary: Rescue Palpatine. If a republic character is next to Palpatine he can then move him towards the designated exit. If Palpatine gets to the exit, then the republic satisfies the conditions of this Objective. Game ends.
Republic Secondary 1: Defeat Dooku. If Dooku is defeated, then the republic satisfies the conditions of this Objective.
Republic Secondary 2: Defeat Grievous. If Grievous is defeated, then the republic satisfies the conditions of this Objective.
Republic Secondary 3: Escape! Obi-wan and Anakin must escape the ship before round 20.
Separatist Primary 1: Escape with Palpatine. If the battle lasts 15 rounds AND Secondary Objective 1 is satisfied AND the Separatists have control of Palpatine, the Ship escapes into hyperspace. The Separatists then satisfy the conditions of this objective. Game ends.
Separatist Secondary 1: Stay Alive. This objective is satisfied as long as Grievous is not defeated.
Separatist Secondary 2: Defeat the invaders. If all Republic forces are defeated, then this objective is satisfied.
Separatist Secondary 3: Escape! Grievous must escape the ship before round 20. He can escape anytime after round 15 at the end of a round by being inside the nearest turbo lift without any Republic characters holding the door open or inside the lift with him.
Secondary Objectives are worth 20 victory pts. Primary Objective is worth 50 victory pts. Winning team is the one with the most Victory points.
