Nym
Nym is a fearsome and aggressive pirate captain. Unlike many pirates, Nym avoided bloodshed where he could. Instead, he became known for his quick and efficient raids. Nym typically operated from his homeworld of Lok. During the Battle for Naboo, Nym used his personal bomber, the Havoc, to devastate Trade Federation forces in a bid for vengeance as much as anything else. His rivalry with the Trade Federation was long and violent. Though granted a pardon by the Supreme Chancellor for his help, Nym kept to his pirate ways. He eventually returned to Lok, rebuilt his pirate base, and became an effective leader for his people. Nym was originally featured in the Star Wars: Starfighter and Jedi Starfighter computer games. He also appears in the Dark Horse Comic series Star Wars Starfighter: Crossbones and most recently in Star Wars Galaxies. In the Star Wars Miniatures Game, Nym is a strong Fringe commander with a powerful and unusual set of special abilities. Grenades 40 alone makes him dangerous to any opponent and devastating to groups of lesser characters. Opposing players should keep an eye on Nym's location at all times. He'll be seeking out enemy commanders to take maximum advantage of his Disruptive ability. Furthermore, Nym's Rapport ability and commander effect bring new value to Mercenary characters, making them more effective. While they do not lose their Mercenary movement limitations, they can attack twice. This could be highly effective when combined with Nym's Recon ability. Star Wars Miniatures Stat Card Preview Faction: Fringe Cost: 48 Hit Points: 100 Defense: 17 Attack: + 10 Damage: 30 Special Abilities: Unique, Disruptive (suppress enemy commander effects within 6 squares), Double Attack, Grenades 40, Rapport (Mercenary), Recon Commander Effect: Non-Unique followers with Mercenary within 6 squares gain Double Attack. ISP Speeder
This highly maneuverable attack vehicle is designed to function equally well hovering over solid ground or water, making it ideal for infantry support in almost any environment. Its anti-infantry twin blaster cannons can also be used against light armored targets. With a good hit, they can even damage a heavier tank.
In the Star Wars Miniatures Game, the ISP Speeder is the best anti-infantry vehicle to date for the Republic faction. While it doesn't do as much damage as the Flash Speeder or the AT-RT, it has Twin Attack and therefore has the potential to deal damage twice. More important, it's much less likely to miss altogether than a heavier vehicle with a single attack. Even better, when not on the move, the ISP Speeder can bring its second set of guns into play with Double Attack, allowing a total of four attacks split between one or two targets. While the ISP Speeder lacks the speed of the BARC Speeder, the Flash Speeder, or the AT-RT, it has Flight and retains a good degree of mobility. Its only significant weakness is its comparatively thin skin. The ISP Speeder has a lower Defense than all of the aforementioned vehicles, and it has fewer Hit Points than the Flash Speeder.
