So the insert from COTF says that characters with a mounted weapon are no considered a living creature.

I am being told that even though only droids specifically state they are immune to critical hits, mounted weapon characters are immune to criticals as well.  This is because both are considered non-living and have no vital spots to score a critical hit on.

I feel that the non-living portion of a mounted weapon is for other abilities.  Since it doesn't specifically state after the entry for mounted weapon that they are immune to critical hits, then I feel they are not immune.

When the rules update was placed in the COTF boosters, they could have easily said that mounted weapon are immune to criticals.  Since they chose not too, then I feel they are subject to critical hits.

What do you guys think?

Thanks!

Jared

In the mean time I'd subject them to Critical Hits.... not realy sure why Droids are immune to crits, it's not like they are Golems or Undead.  They can get shot or hit in a critical place just like everything else....

I would pass you question onto the SWM guru on the Wotc board.  Maybe you will see it posted in the next bit of online errta.

Characters with Mounted Weapon are still subject to critical hits. The reason they specified that they are not "living" is to restrict them from being healed vs repaired and special abilities that only affect "living" characters such as Paralysis and Poison don't affect them.
