| The paintjob from the poster/gallery images makes it look like the centerpiece of the set, with its autumn brown base coat, and silver and copper highlights. it is a beautiful piece in the gallery.Â
A chase rare, and a reason people continue to buy boosters.
But when I finally got my hands on a Desert Skiff, I was very underwhelmed.
What a dissapointment!Â
It doesn't really resemble the skiff from the gallery at all! Its like they took some drab "gold" color and threw the paint in the general direction of the skiff.  No time taken at all. Like Bahumats paintjob. Slap...Slap...Slap... theres the paint.Â
All one color ( a color that is nothing like the gallery image) and looks more rushed paintjob wise than the Uncommon huges, and its supposed to be a very rare.
Its like a swan that ended up as an ugly duckling. Anyone else feel jipped?

| i feel different about paint minis having sloppy paintjobs.
i am also a warhammer player and we assemble and paint the minis ourselves. it sometimes takes years just to build an army and paint it decently.
the SWM minis are painted sloppyly and yes it does not resemble the prototype.
but im glad i can play the SWM minis right out of the box and enjoy it almost immediately the moment i pulled it from the booster box. | | Neutral Ground Philippines forum moderator

| I re-painted it for 5 minutes with some spice brown, and then a quick drybrush with silver. You can see the gold color underneath if you look close because I was sloppy...Â
The gold color was so far off, I couldn't look at it anymore. If it wasn't a very rare, I don't think I would have complained.    The other pieces in bounty hunters are excellent by the way, for example the uncommon huges are very well painted, which baffles me.

| What does your desert skiff look like?  Could you post a picture?
 Maybe there are different versions!? | | Champion of ... Solamnic Knight on Silver Dragon Completed Maxminis Trades = nystul69(1), ihawk(1), gausse(2), smilinirish(1), Ben Webster(1), thom(1), Gunthar(1), Halofurry(1), Anthraxus(1), Dr.Cornelius(1), me_is_fred(1), ksarchet(1), tirwin(1), Sirohk(1)

| | Jabba does fit, but just barely, its a tight fit if you scoot him near the rear of the skiff between the rails. | | Champion of ... | Lol, maybe you missed the part in my message above where I stated I re-painted it. So of course yours doesn't look like my picture. Thanks for dissing my paintjob though. LOL!Â
I thought you meant yours is not the "gold" color. By the way, it seems the "gold" color is the color of the casting material they used for the skiff.
The "ink" is a black wash that was put over the gold casting. So the skiff itself was painted with a ONE STEP paint process.  Basically a black ink wash.
If that gold color is what you prefer then cool. I personally feel I was misled on the booster pictures.
It should have been more the color skiff on the side of every booster out there.Â
The picture on the boosters looks like a 10-15 step paintjob. Obviously a paint master.
Did I expect that master paintjob? No, but I expected 2-3 steps rather than the 1 step finish.
Its called cutting corners, and it ends up showing in the "cheap" looking finish you end up with. This is not a problem for uncommons, you expect it, but for very rares, I am surprised.
and with a price increase of boosters at the same time,  I expected better.

| I agree. It would be better if it looked like the Gallery. Don't get me started on the Gammorean Thug. | | | |

my appology about the comment about your paint. i didnt mean to offend you. im not a good painter myself. thats why im thankfull it comes out painted
i agree with you on the price. i guess they need to pay lucas a lot more or this might be the result of high fuel prices.
i had similar threads posted on the official website forums about complains on BH qualities so i think im with you. | | Neutral Ground Philippines forum moderator

| | Mine doesn't look too bad realy. Not what I'd expect from a VR huge. It's odd the basalisk is such a superior paint job to the Skiff, makes me think their rarities realy ought to have been switched... | | Pathetic Earthlings.
