which one of these squads is the superior squad???? I think that if you put sevs with the right support( palpatine, thrawn. bacara, boss) then it is completely dominate(well at my LGS anyway) viper droid x2 + wat tambor, droid officer + filler is alo quite powerful but if you just had 200pts worth of viper droids vs 200pts of sevs the vipers will win vipers were dominant before champions of the force came out. what do you thibk?

I would have to say the sev squad. Use bacara, a bunch of sevs, and if you use boss(es) add in Mas. Run toward the vipers staying in cover so as not to be attacked. When you get next to the viper and the sheild becomes inactive then attack it. Although you now have to risk being hit, you are getting the dmg bonus and his sheilds dont apply. It would probably be a fairly close battle though, where a few misses for the sevs and hits for the vipers would win it.

hehe i faced a sev squad with my vipers and the sevs all killed themselves cos of the sheilds. i didnt even need to get within 6 squares of them

Sevs are a solid buy. Howeve I do like droid squads since they are immune to criticals. The Viper is a solid unit but in my experience the opposition likes to wade in the beatsticks to take him apart. With the Sev squad you get more activations and can scatter so it takes a while to break that unit. Both are sensible options in my opinion.
