I tried out a Rebel team last week including the newest version of Yoda.  I have to say he's realy nasty when teamed up with the right characters.  Specificaly any character that has or grants the evasion ability.  My force just included the new version of Han, but Wedge, the New Boba Fett or the Bith Black sun Vigo are all great Canidates.  Heck you could even throw in the latest version of Lei Hoth commander to give some of your troopers a second chance at re-spawning.
