It would be one thing if "good" guys were round while "bad" guys had square bases. I kind of like that in SSB. But it's too late for regular SWM, since all those previous sets have round bases. Now, it's silly to make such a change. | | "Look to God and live." | | 01/07/2007 4:14 PM | Alert | Heres a different way to look at it.
They want it to say Star Wars on the side- good reason for it being thicker/raised Some ppl have problems reading when something rounded- so they make the bases square.
Why would they want it to say Star Wars on the side? well, hypothetically speaking of course, lets say one day Star Wars isnt popular anymore (like 50 years or something). You open up a box thats been sitting in your attic and you see all these various figures. You wonder what they are from but the bases are scratched and you cant read it. You dig farther into the box and you find ones with square bases that say Star Wars on the side and you remember.
I know this is a horribly unrealistic and just all around bad story but it would be an explaination for the square bases.

 | | 01/07/2007 6:28 PM | Alert | | Personally I don't care for it myself. I'd prefer them to look like the previous sets for consistancy. I'm curious if the square base will be slightly taller the the round ones...that might look a little odd when next to the previous sets...but it's to hard to tell. I'll still get them of course...the transparent Spirit of Obi-Wan figure looks cool...at least he looks slightly transparent! | | Jin: Your stance leaves you wide open, and your moves are totally inefficient. | | 02/20/2007 7:32 AM | Alert | | Not a fan at all. I buy a few SWM here and there than can fit into DnD, so I guess my opinion doesn't matter much. I just like all my stuff to be the same (in this case, all minis should have round bases). So, I most likely won't be picking up any more SWM until they go back to round bases. | | Originally posted by Schooly_D Username - he deals in minis Champion of Lhesh Haruuc Shaarat'kor | |
