 | | 09/26/2007 9:00 PM | Alert | Okay, so I have a crazy idea....I've seen a lot of custom stats for Star Wars Minis on various message boards, and I've also looked into the Iconic Dragon figures for DDM somewhat (I own the Gargantuan Blue). I have a Godzilla figurine that stands approximately 18" tall - roughly the size of the Colossal Red Dragon. So what I thought was that it would be fun to give him gaming stats, making him playable in SWM, and maybe even adapting that to DDM as well (later).
Okay, so it seems ridiculous, I know, but wouldn't that be SOOOO COOL?!?!
I also have a bunch of 3D terrain to use in this battle, which would probably be an all day thing. I'm thinking of putting him on a base roughly the same size as the CRD. What I need is some input as to how I should cost him out and what kind of special abilities I could give him. Obviously, he'd need to have like 1000 hp and deal out like at least 50 dmg in a hit (several times a round). I was thinking he should definitely have a breath weapon for 100 dmg, useable 3 times per skirmish that would affect the target and all characters within 6 squares (or inches in 3d terrain) of the target. I was also considering using the "Staggered Activations" thing like the AT-AT (whom he'd probably be facing), where he'd have to use at least 4 of 6 activations to move or do a move action, like picking up a character or vehicle or destroying a building or something.
This would truly be an EPIC battle, and I would expect to see mostly heavy weaponry on the board - just like in all the Godzilla movies - but I think it would be fun to see some Sith Lords, Jedi Masters or Stormtrooper armies try to take down the King of the Monsters.
Anyway, these are just ideas, but I'd really appreciate anyone's input as to how to make this crazy dream of mine work....who doesn't want to know what would happen if the Empire took on Godzilla???
ps: Anyone in Winnipeg want to try this out sometime?

....but let's not forget that Godzilla has survived direct hits from nuclear and conventional missles, lasers, the oxygen destroyer (well, technically, he didn't survive), ultrasonic weapons, being immersed in an active volcano, as well as a direct hit from the Dimension Tide (a weapon which launches a miniature black hole).
The Death Star might do it, though.... | | | |

Here are my tentative stats for playing Godzilla in a Star Wars Miniatures game:
GODZILLA , KING OF THE MONSTERS 1000pts
Hit Points - 800 Defense - 17 Attack - +18 Damage - 40
Special Abilities :
COLOSSAL - Never has cover, never benefits from Commander Effects. Ignores difficult terrain. Can move through buildings (see below).
DAMAGE REDUCTION 20
MELEE REACH 4
TRAMPLE - As Godzilla moves, any characters occupying squares on its base or squares it moves into take 40 damage, save 6)
SAVAGE
IMMUNE TO DOMINATION
WEAK SPOT 10 - This characters Damage Reduction is reduced to 10 against attacks from adjacent enemies.
STAGGERED ACTIVATIONS: Activates 6 times per round, up to 4 attack actions and up to 2 move actions. Can activate twice in the same phase. Move actions:
(Move 8")
(Jump 12"- *counts as 2 move actions* This character can leap up to 12" from its starting point without provoking attacks of opportunity(Flight). Upon landing, any enemy underneath Godzilla's base must Save 11 or take 60 damage. Characters who make their save are moved to any spot adjacent to Godzilla's base - opponent's choice.)
(Path of Destruction 4"- *counts as two move actions* Can move through buildings & walls up to 4". Destroyed objects are afterwards considered difficult terrain.
(Charging Assault +30 - *counts as two move actions and 1 attack action* (this is the only instance Godzilla can activate 3 times per phase) - Godzilla can move up to 16" to attack each adjacent enemy at +30 damage)
Attack/Other actions:
(Regular attack)
(Tail Slap - save 11 or 50 damage - range 8")
(Pick up - can pick up terrain or other characters up to huge base size , save 11 - inanimate objects do not save)
(Crush - Godzilla can crush creatures in its grip up to large base size for 60 damage. Gripped creatures can escape on a successful save of 16. This save is made before damage from the crush is applied. Creatures who escape the grip are returned to play within 2" of Godzilla's base and may activate normally this round if they have not already done so. They must, however, save 11 or take 10 damage from falling. )
(Throw Captive 12"- Godzilla can throw any character in its grip up to 12" away. Thrown enemies take 40 damage, save 11.)
(Throw object 12"- Godzilla can throw an object (or enemy) in his grip to use as a projectile against an opponent up to 12" away. he must make a normal attack roll (cover applies). On a successful hit, the target takes damage dependent on the base size of the object. Small=10 dmg, Medium=20 dmg, Large=30 dmg, Huge=40 dmg.)
(Radiation Breath Weapon - *counts as two actions - useable up to 3 times per game* Range 12" - Line 2" wide from the front of Godzilla's base. 100 dmg, make 2 saves, each needing 11. Each successful save reduces the damage by 50. Ignores damage reduction.)
