03/03/2008 12:47 AM Alert

KIdzworld have started their previews of the Legacy of the Force set:
http://www.kidzworld.com/article/11056-star-wars-miniatures-legacy-of-the-force-set-previews

The first two minis previewed are Darth Talon and Jagged Fel. Since we've already seen the poster, the preview is interesting mainly for those who are interested the stats, although they do also have high resolution pictures of the two minis.

They Just posted Darth Nihl, interesting VR beatstick.  Also judging by the previews it looks like they are giving us a weaker form of Force Lightning.  I'm not sure how cool I am with that.

I was hoping that Darth Nihl would have terrible stats, because I was interested in the mini for D&D and the higher priced VRs just aren't worth it for that purpose.

The only reasonable priced rare that come to mind is Mon Mothra.

I can see why you were interested in Darth Nihl as a D&D character.  He's got a World of Warcraft Evil Elf look going there.  The VR system is one of those things I hate and love about Star Wars minis.  I hate it because it makes some of the sought after characters much harder to pull or buy.  On the other hand I love it because it tends to de-value the rare minatures.

There are actually quite a few R and VR minis from Star Wars that I've picked up to use in D&D for a dollar or two plus shipping:

San Hill (RotS rare)
Sly Moore (RotS rare)
Tion Medon (RotS VR)
Nute Gunray (Un rare)
Mas Amedda (CotF rare, will probably actually use for a mod)
Yomin Carr (A&E rare, but has square base)
Ephant Mon (A&E VR, but has square base)

I generally try to wait until I run across a seller that has a reasonable combined shipping policy and also has some other uncommons or commons I'm interested in, so it requires some patience, but even even just paying shipping for a single item, some of these go for the price of a below average DDM rare.

Oops I meant to say Very Rare, not rare.  There's been a few auctions where I've picked up multiple cheap rares.  Auggies tends to get most of my buisness.  Lately I have not been buying much due to an email change, and school eating up my time and money.

I generaly frequent Auggies, he's got pretty good BIN prices and his shipping is reasonable.  I have not gotten anything off e-bay for a little while now, the last time I logged in most of my favorite sellers were gone.

He'd be a pretty nice expert figure for D&D as well.  The only realy high tech item he seems to have is that datapad.  A quick brushstroke could easily turn it into a book.

It might even see play if her faction ever fleshes out a little.

that's the problems I see, some factions are very under represented.

I hope for more saber wielders in Old rep. We also should get Visas Marr and not some Jedi Sentinel with her looks.

I'm pretty impressed by what I've pulled from the new set, top to bottom, as far as production quality.

Wiwerd, he was the first R/VR I pulled as well. Looks sweet, too.
