While that is a possibility, I would like to point out they have been listening to the complaints about broken maps (changing starting area, giving away 'cleaned up' maps as league prize support etc.) So it is entirely possbile that much thought/testing could have gone into some of these Attack on Endor maps.

| Most of the Huges I run with prefer to keep out of HTH actually. I rarely use the Rancor and the Arena Beasts. Although with Exar Kun coming out that could change.....
Mmmmmm.... Rancor with Jedi Hunter[:D]

| I saw the Attack on Endor selling for 13.99 on Iconusa.
I thought I would let you guys know.
I think the scenario pack is a great idea. I'd like some more maps (not a lot of Endor maps out there) and you get an At-ST for 20 bucks. How can you go wrong?

| Okay, looks like the Maps are: 1. Endor 2. Ruined Base 3. Jedi Temple 4. "dungeon full of arena beasts"
And the figures are AT-ST Walker, Scout Trooper, Stormtrooper & Stormtrooper Commander.
Got this from kidzworld.com (well, a Google cache of said site- my workplace blocks the actual site. [}:)])

| I think that sucks. Why can't they stick with the Endor theme? How about: 1. Forest floor 2. Ewok village 3. Shield Generator 4. Forest and bunker
I understand they are trying to produce maps for the other huges but I don't think they should mix and match. If the maps were compatible, then you can put two together. You need that with huge minis like the rancor.

I, on the otherhand, think it rocks.
This is essentially the only "Map Pack" on the 2006 schedule, so I am glad they chose to spread the the wealth instead of only being Endor. Much as I would like an Ewok Village (so we can kill 'em at the source [}:)]), all Endor would get boring.
And for all we know, the League Kits may contain tiles that modify the Endor map. And if not, I am sure we will get more Endor/Ewok tiles/maps from the mapmakers out there.

| | I hope your right. I was actually hoping for more than 1 Endor map, that's why i am disaapointed. I think a forest map would also be useful for other jungle scenarios. Do you think the maps will be standard size or bigger? | | | |

Check out Mongoose Publishing's Starship Troopers RPG Floorplans. Same scale as SWM. http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/home/detail.php?qsID=939&qsSeries=35 "This new boxed set of original artwork contains four, double-sided poster-size floorplans provides eight different terrain types, varying from rocky wasteland to searing jungle."

The Enddor Maps sound lovely, the Jedi Temple, Forest and Dungeon are all perfect for D&D as well as Star Wars. | | Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum-ishi krimpatul

Well, at $2.50 per map (retail) I guess I am a lot more forgiving. Particularly since for some of the maps there is nothing else out there like them.

Same scale as SWM, just no terrain markings. But not too hard to figure what is Difficult Terrain/Low Objects etc.

| | Huh I haven't been checking kidzworld. Guess I should start. I believe if this set(pack?) sells well. We'll see another before the end of the year. The question is, will they always put "resculpted" huges in with the packs or will they increase the number of normal sized minis? Heck I'd even be for them making a special huge for the packs. They would know how many needed to be made and we'd get something that maybe we wouldn't have gotten any other way. | | Champion of Jarlaxle Sets: Star Wars Year one complete,44/60 Champions of the Force,0/60 Bounty Hunters | |

While anything is possible, I suspect new figures will remain part of a set, with Colossal minis like the AT-AT being the exception (and I am not sure we will even see another of those).
The Attack on Endor is a stopgap, to fill the lull between getting the SWM line back up to speed as well as replace the highly criticized Ultimate Missions line. So I am not sure we should take it as an indicator of future products.
That being said, notice the scenarios and the maps are the only new items. The miniatures are the same with the AT-ST only a repositioning. So, the miniatures expense was kept to a bare minimum. I expect the next map/scenario product will be the same to keep the expenses down, with all new minature design/production remaining part of 'traditional' sets.

Star Wars Miniatures: Attack on Endor January 30, 2006
Rid your battleground of pesky Ewoks with a giant AT-ST walker that can do your bidding. Unleash the dark side with the Star Wars Miniatures: Attack on Endor expansion set, due to hit shelves this February. As previously reported, last year's release of the Universe Expansion Set to the Star Wars Miniatures game added 60 more figures from the original trilogy era and beyond, as well as introducing a big new aspect to the game which may be a contradictory of terms -- the Huge miniature.
This year, Wizards of the Coast bring gamers the Attack on Endor set which includes: a huge AT-ST walker, a scout trooper, a stormtrooper, a stormtrooper commander, a mission scenario book with four new maps of Endor and other combat zones, as well as scenarios for a ruined base, a Jedi temple and an arena creature dungeon. Ewoks, however, are not included.
Sterling Hershey, contributing missions writer for the Star Wars Miniatures, says he had fun writing the scenarios and other material for the new booklet. "The maps and scenarios are not restricted to Endor," Hershey reveals. "The maps feature a ravaged base, a rancor pit, a Jedi Temple on Yavin 4 and, of course, a bunker on Endor's moon. They are fantastic and work very well with the new Universe set with its Huge size minis. The scenarios span all eras available so far in the game (prequel through New Jedi Order). They all feature the Universe set, but some also include characters from the previous three sets."
"None of these scenarios attempt to recreate any specific movie or Expanded Universe scene, though they are heavily inspired by both," Hershey continues. "Some are prototypical Star Wars encounters -- Clones vs. Droids, Empire vs. Rebels -- and several will feel familiar to Expanded Universe fans. For instance, there's an overwhelming Yuuzhan Vong attack in one, and Black Sun makes an appearance in another. And with a map called the Rancor Pit, you can bet that beast will also make an appearance."
For more information about Star Wars Miniatures, be sure to visit the official Wizards of the Coast site here. Also be sure to check out Star Wars Miniatures contributing missions writer Sterling Hershey's VIP blog Delusions of Grandeur for behind-the-scenes information on various Star Wars RPG projects.

| | I must be one of the few who like the new look. It definately looks as though it was at the Attack on Endor. I must say though I would've liked to have had the "Battle of Hoth" with a sneak peak of the Snow Speeder. But we can't have of cake and eat it too. Thor it's 20 bones and with help support more "battle packs" in the future. I can see us getting atleast one more pack this year. For some reason I was thinking 29.99 like the RotS pack....
4 maps and an AT-AT for $20??? That's a great deal....
I guess I just wanted more. Easy to see how this could have been a real nice super set. (Ewoks, Gliders, other cool stuff)

That's because it is. Attack on Endor replaces the low selling Ultimate Missions line, so some of the maps that were originally going to appear in UM:Universe appear in AoE.
Considering the price, and the fact that one can always use more Imperials*, I don't mind the 'reuse' of maps, figures & sculpts.
*And if for some strange reason you don't want them, the figures selected make good trade bait for even nonSWM players.

| | I believe for that very reason this map pack will sale well. Here's to hoping they get even more creative for the next ones. Though I'd have to say if they use another Universe huge. The only other one I'd want in mass is the Tusken on Bantha. Unless of course they remove the Tusken and make it a plain ole Bantha. Then I'd want oodles. Or maybe a BARC with the right Clone driving this time:). | | Champion of Jarlaxle Sets: Star Wars Year one complete,44/60 Champions of the Force,0/60 Bounty Hunters | |

It's pretty simple to remove the Tusken from the Bantha (it's a separate piece), and it doesn't look too bad even without any additional work.
All you have to do is gently push forward on the Tusken's shoulders, and then use a flat bladed screwdriver to pry off the Tusken's legs. Just work slowly down towards the feet and it should come off without damage to the bantha or rider.
There will probably be some of the beige paint stuck to the glue underneath the Tusken's legs, and there are small molded impressions for the rider's legs, but it should be relatively simple to clean up with a little bit of work.
There's a plastic tab on the Bantha that even allows you to put the Tusken back on and have it stay (usually) without needing any glue.
