| Are you there, God? It's me, Sawyer. I fell off the couch laughing at the idea of him reading this book.
I love Sun, but I think she's a lying ho. I think she did the English tutor. But, they've been on the island for a couple of months or more... I'm pretty sure Jin is the "daddy-o".
So is Balloon Man pitting Jack and Locke against each other because he's bored and they're easy prey, or because he has ulterior sinister motives?
Not that it was hard, but I called everything Sun did before she did it this episode.
Charlie's becoming quite the dork. I like the change, at least he's less of a victim now.

Yep. I assume everything is a plant, so I'm wondering what else to make of this one.

| I didn't notice that about the house inspection. Now that I think of it, though, I think you're right.
It was a great episode. My wife totally called the Henry Gale thing, she called it a while back.
I'm still bummed about the black cast members not being featured more often.... What's up with Michael and Walt?

| Ive heard they are going to have a rose episode later this year.
It was a good one, Im glad Sayed is smart, the whole time they were at the balloon im yelling of course he knows where a balloon crashed he is a freaking other!
And btw, if they dont go get the balloon and the parachute to use in their camp they are morons, they could get a ton of use out of that parachute and balloon, (parachute is closer so thats the easiest one) | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.

| I'm a bit disappointed with how contrived the hatch goings-on were. Some later episode might explain how everything was carefully choreographed by fake Henry and the Others, but for now, it comes across poorly. The ending went a long way toward redeeming it though!

That is my theory. I was watching last night and kept thinking that the doc looked familiar. Granted, I see a passing resemblence to a younger Ed Begley, Jr., but that wasn't it. It kept GNAWING at me until I got a close-up of Doc's face...If it's not the same person, they could be brothers. But, more to the point, I asked my GF about it, and she paused. Looked some more, and dropped her jaw declaring my genius. OK, maybe not "genius" but she does believe that they are the same person.
And we've already had at least incidence of multiple paths crossing with one of Locke's supervisors and Hurley (was it the guy who ran the convenience store?). So it wouldn't be without precedent.
Perhaps Libby killed someone, too? Maybe that's why she dropped out of med school. The bodies are really starting to pile up in these backstories.
And I liked Jin's reaction to seeing Sawyer get his butt handed to him by the fat guy. That was worth the price of admission on its own! | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?

| Henry Gale is played by actor Micheal Emerson
and the psyciatrist is played by Bruce Davison
They may seem familar because they are character actors in supporting and guest starring roles in a boatload of of TV show. Both are undoubtly going give you a nagging feeling of recognition just from the sheer number of things they have been in.
In my opinion they look nothing alike, but I do get your point about paths crossing throughout the series.
Sawyer geting his a** kicked by Hurley and Jin laughing about it was definitly worth the price of admission.
How much would it suck if at the end of the series the writers punk us with 'It really is a coma induced fantasy of Hurley'.

| It was hilarious watching Sawyer (repeatedly) trying to crawl out from under the tarp only to get dragged back in. Ikept expecting to see little smoke clouds and exclamation points appear, like in those old Looney Toons cartoons. [:D]
As of this episode, are there any characters besides Sun, Libby, and Eko who *haven't* beaten up Sawyer? [:p]

| At first I thought this was just going to be a place holder episode, usually the 3 and 4th tier characters only get backstories in these type episodes. But by the end I realized the episode was showing us how the island is changing everyone. Kate's comment about being broken is very observant, the island seems to be 'fixing' everybody and this episode shows us just what is being done.
Sun is pregnant by an infertile Jin,Locke can walk,Rose is cancer free,Charlie is drug free and *maybe* on the road to redemtion as is Eko, Hurly and Libby look to have been cured of there mental problems, Even Jack, Kate and Sayid look to be coming to terms with there pasts.
Maybe the island is some sort of technological Limbo so people can gain redemtion hense the tailes run in with the others and them telling Anna Lucia only the 'good' one were taken.

| I'm excited to see some plot movement.
I was thinking that the healing properties of the island may be natural, somewhat like Rose's "healer" explained. That would make the hatches an invasion of sorts -- perhaps a way to study and/or capture the magic of the island. This would explain why Locke has gone astray ever since getting involved with the hatch. Initially, he thought the island showed it to him for a purpose. Maybe that purpose is to destroy it?

| I was wondering about the healing thing. I mean, Boone wasn't saved by it. And plenty of others have been hurt or killed. So, is it recent? (Apparently not, given Locke's experience on day 1.) Is it particular? Does it apply only in certain areas? Does it apply only to certain people? Does it apply only to people who've done something?

So... did Michael shoot Henry after he shot himself? Are the women dead? I heard the actress who plays Libby got a part on another show, so she's probably toast. Is Ana Lucia dead? What was Michael thinking?
Ana and Jack's father... hmmmm. Might he be behind all this? He faked his death, hid in his coffin in the cargo bay, and sabotaged the plane so it would crash on his island... ok, no. But maybe? No.

| my wife and I did not see that coming, holy crap! loved it!. My take is that Ana Lucia is indeed very dead [woohoo annoying girl death], Libby is also probably dead (no love for hurley) and Michael let Gale? go, after shooting himself and giving him the gun of course; perfect alibi since Gale had already kicked Ana's ass before and she wanted revenge, etc.

| My wife is one of those people who figures out movies and stuff way before they're over. I remember in one of those Bourne movies, she leaned over at one point and said something like "see this guy, here's what's gonna happen to him in this scene," and she was right. It freaks me out because she's so good at it. I usually try to put one of our kids between us at the theater so she doesn't ruin things for me. [:)]
She loves Lost because it evades her ability to predict. Last night she was all but screeching when Michael was blowing people away.
I loved it, I really enjoy unpredictable shows. But she loved it more because to her, well, they're almost all predictable.

| I see it as two options right now.
1. The Others got to him and he is letting Henry go and shooting himself to make it look like he fought his way out.
2. He shot himself then will shoot Henry (though why shoot yourself first?) and making it look like he was the hero so he can trick everyone into going with him to the Others to rescue Walt. | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.
