2. He shot himself then will shoot Henry (though why shoot yourself first?) and making it look like he was the hero so he can trick everyone into going with him to the Others to rescue Walt.
I'd say number one is more likely, as it seems like everyone's ready to go get Walt anyway.

| I wonder what Walt was getting at when he was with his Dad and said something about pretending.
I wonder whether the electromagnetic stuff is to prevent people from teleporting off the island (or astral projecting off). Mrs. Clue (or whatever her name was) asked Michael if Walt had ever appeared where he shouldn't have been....

I haven't been watching as much this season as I did the first, but I'm starting to get the feeling that they are the original researchers/subjects from the island. OK, so Libby is dead.
But, the actress who plays (bear with me) Libby was on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (they were on the Drew Carey Show together). She said that she had done more work after her character died than before. It was also hinted that she would be back for next season (?), after all - she was there promoting Lost.
So we will eventually hear her story and possibly more...

| Excrept from a post on tvtome.com
interesting.
quote: Thomas Love Peacock (strange name, I know) wrote a story called "Headlong Hall". Don't really know what the story's about, can't say I've read it, apparently it deals with a lot of philosophizing. One reviewer noted the following:
"By way of example, you have Mr. Foster, a "perfectabilian" who extols the wonders of progress in the world, and Mr. Escot, a "deteriorationist" who lauds the goodness of the "natural" man, impugns progress at every turn, and basically consigns all of mankind to the compost heap of history. In between these two, there is Mr. Jenkinson, a "statu-quo-ite" who finds balance in everything."
Hmm.... "good" people, "bad" people, and those in-between... coincidence? or have we seen it before?
Anyways, my search drew me to this story based on a line at the start of its 4th chapter:
"Here you see is the pedestal of a statue, with only half a leg and four toes remaining: there were many here once."
Bizarre coincidence, since that's exactly what we saw in the season finale, eh? A foot on a pedestal with four toes, with about half a leg. And the Others constantly go on about how they're the "good" people, how the ones they kill are the "bad" ones... yet they don't go after the Lostaways, as we can assume most of them are neither good nor bad?
It certainly gives additional merit to the thought that the Others are a part of some Dharma-inspired "utopian social" experiment, as mentioned in the Swan's orientation video... just figured I'd express my thoughts on this

| Well, I hope that the website adds tidbits over the summer. I'll be really bored if they don't. There's a lot that the creative folks behind Lost can do to keep things interesting, I just hope they have the drive, time, and money to do it.
I'm curious what the knowing glances between Jack and Kate meant. They might just have been the old "well, see you on the other side" kind of glance--but, they might also have been a "are you ready for what we've planned to happen next?" kind of glance.
Curiouser and curiouser.

| Another nice tie-in with Clancy Brown as the spook who recruited both Desmond and Sayid.
OK, Desmond wasn't really "recruited" but it sounds better when I say it that way.
And the morning show noted that both Hurley's pretend friend and Libby's deceased husband shared the same first name. And there's a Cheech & Chong reference, too. "Dave's not here, man." Sadly ABC is adopting a new scheduling statagy. Fans are tired of constant repeats and the networks lose a lot of the audience to the many cable and satellite channels when showing repeats. Next season ABC will show 7 new episodes when the fall season begins then lost will go on hiatus, a new show filling its spot, till febuary sweeps then they will show the rest of the season straight through till may sweeps with no repeats.

Im sad and happy about that. Less time between shows and less repeats are cool. Basically good episodic drama does not meet up with the sitcom season. Sitcoms can go Sept-May straight through because it doesnt matter, Tim Taylor does the same thing week i n and week out. there is no meta-story. Good drama can't meet the same standard. | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.

| It was the 24 paradigm that caused the change to Lost and other networks are adopting it as well.
The other networks see the sucess 24 is having with there scheduling stratagy and are starting to adopt it, it not just lost other shows are going to be doing the same thing as well next season.
24 has just been renewed for 3 seasons so it must be a success despite haveing wildly improbably plots and holes in the story you could drive a truck through. Don't get me wrong I am a big fan of 24 but even I have many a WTF moments when watching the show.

| Doesn't FOX have baseball in the fall? I think ABC doesn't have enough stuff to fill its schedule like FOX does.
I'd imagine it's a madhouse at the networks, trying to figure out what the others did right, what their own schedulers did wrong, etc.
Crazy.

I have read much here on the board yet to avoid spoiler...at least until I've cought up. Almost done with season 1 and the wife and I have given up on waiting and are now watching them from d/l's.
I can confirm that Peanut butter isn't very popular outside of North America and the U.K. (British PB is pretty dry btw, not like Kraft or Skippy). My Aussie buddy does say that PB isn't at all popular down under.
