i stopped at my local wally world last night and was wondering why the same game companies or even competitors make the miniatures/playing pieces the same size.
wotc D&D-30mm
star wars-30mm
heroclix-25-30m
heroscape-30mm-35mm?
new marvel battle dice-15mm
new titanium action fleet-15mm or smaller
marvel board game with painted miniatures-40mm
descent-25mm?
star wars unleashed- heard they were much bigger but smalled than action figures
axis/allies -15mm?
i understand we might not be the target buyer for some of these but somebody should realize that these games would make more money if they were the same size miniature as say the current wotc line. the boxs on most of these game say they come with collectible minatures. some of these games are made by hasbro who owns wotc so you would hink there was communication on this$$$$$.

I believe that AAM is smaller so that more pieces could fit on the board for mass battles.

Its even that way with toys.
Im sure we all wished Star Wars, Masters of the Universe, Thundercats and GI Joe all were at the same scale so they could interact...But its just not the way it is.
But your right there are certain things I wanted to get for DDM compatability but realized it ws to big or to small so didnt purchase it.

My son got Heroscape for X-mas. He immidiately wanted to use his DDM pieces with the game too (Similar concept game) but noticed how Vastly different the scales are.
Each brand must maintain uniqueness so that it can maximize its individual sales. Otherwize people's imagination might stifel their profits.
