| So, anyone have a good response/reply/comeback for those times when you have your minis out and your wife/girlfriend/significant other/parent/brother says "ah... playing with your dolls again, eh?"
I'm trying to come up with something a little more witty than "They're not dolls; these are Action Figures!"

| Actually, I once received a package of miniatures listed as "dolls" and Canadian customs
had opened it. I was embarassed in fron of the clerk. Sometimes, they come in as toys too, and that is what my parents call them, I refer to them as collectables, or my "armies of darkness". As for my friends, they are very happy I have so many for when we actually "play" D&D ;) | |

I'm fortunate, my wife likes my gaming (as long as I keep the expense reasonable) and my gaming friends even though she doesn't participate. A cheerful "Sod off!" normally works for me. [:)] If the comment comes from a male friend rather than one of the other groups you mentioned, it would normally turn into a series of "yo momma" jokes ... eg., "Yeah, got tired of playing with your mom" ... you get the idea ... | |
