| I think the cylons are finding out that deep cover and sleeper agents sometime gain enough empathy for the enemy that they switch sides.
Spoiler....
I think the lucy lawless cylon summed it all up when in the bombed garage she, without hesitation, points the gun and prepares to kill the human while saying "humans have no respect for life".

| | I thought it was a nice twist that will add some longevity and believability to the show. For awhile I thought that every one of the same model shared a consiousness, but that was debunked when Pegasus 6 didn't know Gaius. Now we see that even though they are reborn when they die, each individual has (or is at least capable of)a distinct personality, they just look alike. I was surprised they didn't introduce one or more new models in the episode, I think they did show one, there was a black male in a couple of the cylons on Caprica scenes (dressed differently, so presumeably a Cylon and not human). I don't remember having ever seen him before. | | Champion of the Yeti (large uncommon please!) Assistant to the Regional Manager | |

| The Black Cyclon was shown earlier in a previous episode during Starbucks 'visit' to Caprica.
I have to say I like the twist and fits with the rumours that the season will end with the Cyclons talking of peace. I really found suprising that Gaius is appearing to Caprica 6 the same way she is appearing in his thoughts back on Galatica. What significances does this carry? Did they somehow meld before her 'death'? Up until this episode there have been questions on her visions, including her physical manifestation in Ep 107 as Shelley Godfrey. Was Shelley aware of Gaius' visions, or did she conveniently show up at the right time. Better yet she is visibly shaken when Gaius confronts her in the bathroom and mentions seeing her everywhere he goes. Then to top it off no sooner does the Six in his mind return, then the physical Six disappear from Galactica and the entire fleet. But just to make sure everyone knows she was real, her glasses are still laying there on the bridge.
One thing I do want to say is I think Baltar is making a mistake running for President. This puts him front and centre in the spot light. Not only is Laura positive that he is responsible for the death of millions (from Ep 107 and her recent flashback where she remembers seeing him with this blonde cylon), but now more then ever she'll try to find evidence of this, we may just see Shelley Godfrey again. | | "I was sittin' here eatin' my muffin, drinkin' my coffee, replayin' the incident in my head, when I had what alcoholics refer to as a moment of clarity." - Jules Winnfield Sales/Trades Bad (1): Ironfist Boulderbender Trades/Sales completed (8.): Danthl, Dafrca, Garyaxe, qillan_dvra, realmaster, Vandal_Savage, cavedweller, unearthed arcana. | | I'm still betting the big reveal at the end of the series will be that they're all cylons ... Baltar, Adama, etc ... and the entire series is just a simulation run by the cylons to try to force themselves to evolve into living beings ... | | Champion of Meepo _*_ Myztek on the Wizards Boards. _*_ (2206 DDM on 03/06/06) Please note: The use of the indicates an attempt at humor ... often a bad attempt. | | i think 6 and baltar have evolved somewhat. the visioon/ghosts seem to be able to foretell what their opponent will say and do to a degree. the baby must have a major impact on this series down the line? | | The ROCK layeth the smacketh down. | I like the change as well. Up 'til now, the Colonials have been their own worst enemies. Now the Cylons have their own factions starting to develop.
Its a good twist with alot of mileage.
As an aside (and possible "spoiler" if you didn't follow the old series):
I'm really happy that they didn't feel like they needed to follow the old series and destroy Pegasus right away. I think its only a matter of time (season finale maybe), but its nice to see it hanging around. | | Rhane "The focus is sharp in the city..." Have/Want List Reference thread Avatar Thread

Here's what I think: 1. All cylons within the fleet are going to be understandably devastated by the news that the cylon baby has (allegedly) died. 2. The resistance group (which includes the cylon #6) has a nuke, courtesy of Baltar. 3. Pegasus probably won't survive into next season. Join the dots on that set of circumstances folks! | I finally got to see this episode. Granted I had a mid term and got sick in the process. But hey it is all good.
As to the episode and the series it still rocks!! For me the twists are that the visions are the visual consciousness. Kinda an advanced "Jimminey Cricket". Like my lab partner just said, "Let your conscious be your guide."
I like the idea that the cylons all have independent thought. But how fast would you go insane looking at the same 12 faces, including your own, for the rest of your time. Knowing that you would never die. At least this is what I thought of as the scene of the cafe was rolling.
As this was happening and "Sharon" and Caprica 6 were talking about the humans they had 'fracked' over it dawned on me they are going to want peace or at least a fraction of them will.
Changing gears...
I still think that Baltar's running for office is going to be a huge blow up. It is going to take Roslyn some time to put the things that she saw during her cancer/drug induced coma together, and with all the other things blowing up or being 'born' all around her it may take some time to put all the pieces and parts together.
All in all there are enough plot threads and individual elements to make this show go a long time. A very long time. Those plot elements are just the ones with major story implications. Add on top of that all the emotional baggage and underlying character elements, like Apollo taking command of the Pegasus (I see a whole mutiny thing there. I mean it is Battlestar Galactica not Battlestar Galactica and Pegasus, this is just me) and we still have the whole relationship between Tigh and his wife that can always spell trouble. Anyhow just my thoughts.....thoughts on a really great show!!!! | | Ambassador of FUN!!!

I originally thought that when a cylon is killed and reborn, all copies of that model benefited from the memories. This episode made it very clear that this is NOT the case. It seems that all copies of each model would have been identical initially, but as time went on the copies have diverged as they acquire different memories from their counterparts.
Having said that, I'm still a bit confused why the Sharon currently on Galactica has memories of being in love with Chief Tyrol when she hadn't met Tyrol before arriving on Galactica. Only the other Sharon (who is now on Caprica) has those memories, right?

heres my theory (and you have to assume the writers just didn't change things and hope we don't ask awkward questions): The original sharon on the galactica was a sleeper who didn't know she was a cylon, Helo left behind on caprica was an oportunity for the human cylons to preform some experiments (this was obvious in one episode where they were observing him to see if he would rescue the captured sharon).
They needed the caprica sharon to have all the memories of the galactica sharon in order to pull off the ruse and get her pregnant. Until the resurrection ship was destroyed the cylons did have contacts with in the fleet, they still might. So without her knowledge the sleeper Galactica sharon was having her memories accessed in order to make the ruse on caprica work. These accesses were subconciously awakening her cylon side and this is why the cylons don't normally do this to there sleeper agents and why sharon was haveing the weird dreams and the odd things that happened to her like the word cylon being written on the mirror.
The cylons deemed the experiment and pregnancy on caprica to be more important than the boomer sleepers mission on galactica and so they risked blowing her cover to access the memories.
