| Hi everybody. Just wanted to take a few moments and introduce myself. I'm an old fart(almost 33) who's been playing D&D forever. I live in West Virginia where there is a small but thriving D&D scene. I'm really new to DDM even though I've been collecting the minis for RPG for a good while now. I'm just learning the rules and it seems like a great game, supported by an awesome online community. I've been quietly lurking here for a while now and hopefully I will get a trade list together soon and get a little more active in the community.

| Yeah, 33 is probably around the majority if you figure the age groups as under 25, 25-35, and old as dirt if older then 35.

| Most of the member are here for DDM, and since its based on D&D, most who play it are "old". D&D has alot of players above 25, since some have been playing it from the 70s and 80s. Its only natural to have the same people playing DDM as well.
I'm 18, and I'm the youngest player at our DDM games. Rest are around 25 or above, I think.

By the way, I have a huge head start on being old. I had my first hip surgery at age 26 and I am recovering from my second hip surgery 6 months ago and this one was total hip replacement surgery so I still count myself as old as dirt. | |

It's when they perform surgery on your hip.

It's basically a replacement of the pelvic joint, I believe. As Wraithborne points out, it's usually needed more in the elderly community for when they fall and crack their pelvic bone. | |

Long story short, I have a degenerative bone disease called Avascular Necrosis, aka Aseptic Necrosis and had one surgery that was just to postpone the replacement in '99 and had it replaced in late '05.
Moral of the story.....steroids are bad, even when a Dr. tells you to take them. | |

| That sucks, I have a friend who has something similar in her knees. She's 26 (tomorrow, actually) and has the knees of a 65 year old marathon runner. Knee replacements every 7-10 years starting at about 30. good times.
