I do a computer Q&A for a mag, but my 'helpdesk' email went south losing my access to reader questions. I need some fillers, as my head isnt very good of thinking of staged questions.

If my OS fails to boot, how do I know if it is the hard drive or a problem with a virus?

Is there any way I can artificially slow my CPU speed so I can run old games like Wing Commander: Privateer on my computer?

How do I set up my computer so it will act as the server for my own website?

How do you set up a parallel connection between PC's so you can transfer files?

It's deja vu all over again.

Does it give an error message? And what OS?

Use Moslow for $10 USD or a similar program (like DOSBOX, better imo and free) from http://www.geocities.com/kulhain that will slowdown your CPU letting you play them old games.

What OS do you have?
Also, preffered is a steady 24/7 net connection.

I used to use laplink or PC anywhere, but not sure what's available now.
Direct Cable Connection can be a bit tricky to set up, and is fussy about having the right cable but can be cost effective way.

Thanks.

I`ll be able to turn a couple of those into tutorials as well [:)]
