| The fate of the Jedi--a synopsis
Well, as the 5th of 13 users with 'jedi' somewhere in their screen tag, I've begun to wonder just what sort of collective fate we live under. Now, we know this year has been dubbed by WoTC (despite Chinese zodiacical evidence to the contrary) THE YEAR OF THE DRAGON.
Now, that's great for the dragon, but what about us lowly jedi?
Let me toss a quick graphic out here to illustrate my (coming) point--
Date Joined User Name Posts 12/28/2003 jediknght1 50 9/14/2004 JediMAC 163 1/31/2005 Jedirusty 53 4/9/2005 jedimasterbilly 8 4/15/2005 jedijon 290 4/16/2005 Jedi_Huck 1 4/18/2005 jedimasternurgle 1 5/7/2005 Jawa Jedi 16 5/17/2005 Jedi Wrestler 9 6/19/2005 obiwanjedimaster 0 8/4/2005 Jawa_Jedi 2 11/14/2005 jedimaster jax zoon 0 12/25/2005 jedi master leighton 0
Now except for the persistent (and perhaps password forgetting) Jawa Jedi a.k.a. Jawa_Jedi, we all seem to be unique individuals struggling in our various ways to live up to the rigorous jedi code. Okay, let me just drop that pretense right here--it happened to be part of my gmail account before I ever came here (you can't BUY an e-mail account with jon in the name--everybodies got it!).
So, although I have no real attachment to jedi ways, I still feel for my jedi brethren. As you can see from the chart, the 2nd quarter of '05 was a banner time to be a jedi. Nearly 1/2 of us joined up then. Gee whiz--was there a movie out around then or what!?
Our fate gets a little sadder though--between us, we average just 46 posts/jedi, again with almost half of us never really posting at all. Even worse, only two of us (myself and jediMAC) have posted in the last 8 months!
NO new 'jedi' in '06!!-----in '05, we had 12. We're sadly behind in adding new padawan to the fold.
So, while all you Glaurons and Glumags and Ghendars get together and giggle, or you Corims, Kithmakers, and Counts band together to cry a little--would all you other Usernames please think of us poor jedi fondly.

Hey Kyp--well my wife is the Star Wars fan, so for a second there I didn't recognize you as a fellow Jedi, but then it came to me, all hazy-like. Just like the shaking that magic 8 ball.
Thanks for pointing out that my simple Jedi analysis hasn't caught every Jedi that's here on the site--that's why I urge the rest of you to stand up!! Let all your light-saber wielding goodness be heard. True, we also have Count Dooku among other "named" sith, so a simple search of sith in the members section won't perfectly illustrate the evil we need to excise ;)
Seriously, I'm enjoying this semi-solidarity that we can have here as a demographic of MaxMinis. It's like being in the same after-school program. Or soccer league. Thanks fellow Jedi--I know you're out there! | | *WoTC Delegate (Chicago)* :=: My Trade Thread :=: DISPUTED TRADE WITH TREE DRUID!!!!!!!!

Jai Maruk was a human male Jedi Master during the Clone Wars, at which time he wielded a sky blue lightsaber. He was a native of Druckenwell and was nicknamed "the Hawk-bat." After returning from a costly mission on Vjun, Jai was allowed to return to Coruscant by Count Dooku in order to lure Master Yoda into a trap, a trap that Jai did not know about. When in the dining hall of the Jedi Temple Jai expressed his feelings about how one certain youngling should be sent the the Jedi's Agriculture Corps because of her apparent lack of the Force. Master Yoda made a bet with Master Maruk, that if this youngling were to win the fighting competition he would have to take her as his Padawan learner. After watching Tallisibeth Enwandung-Esterhazy defeat all other competition, Jai hesitantly took her as his Padawan.
On a secret return mission to Vjun to confront Count Dooku, Master Maruk, Master Yoda, Master Maks Leem, Scout and Whie were attacked by Asajj Ventress. In a hard fought lightsaber duel which nearly caused Jai to turn to the Dark Side of the Force, Jai Maruk was slain by Asajj Ventress along with Maks Leem. His Padawan clambered to his side and begged him not to leave her, and with his last breath he told her, "Never...my Padawan." | As another note, there was a Jedi with the name Jon...
Jon Antilles is a fictional character in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. A student of the Dark Woman who removed himself from direct contact with the Jedi Order after infiltrating the Bounty Hunter's Guild and bringing many vile characters to justice. He continued to operate on the Fringe, doing good where possible.
He accompanied Obi-Wan Kenobi and three other Jedi Masters to the planet Queyta to acquire a cure to a horrible Confederacy chemical weapon. The Confederacy could unleash it and kill the entire Clone Army without risking their troops. The cure was stored in a Confederacy laboratory that sat atop a large island that sat in a river of lava. The laboratory was mobile in the fact that it rode the lava flow. Jon immediately took charge of the strike team and led the plunge to the lab.
Jon Antilles was killed when he grappled with the bounty hunter Durge, attempting to distract him while Obi-Wan could retrieve the cure from Asajj Ventress. Durge grabbed Jon and plunged him into a lava river.
Although the Jedi Order doubted that Jon Antilles was his real name and despite the fact that he had appeared deceased before, the Jedi are fairly sure that Jon is not going to return from his final episode. The best that can be said about his final escapade is that the mission was a success. Obi-Wan managed to retrieve the cure for the Clone Army with the help of the only remaining Jedi Master in the group, Master Fay.
Jon Antilles was known to use a green lightsaber. | | Sean Banks Champion of Elementals Official Organizer Gen Con 05 maxminis Event | Winterfantasy 06 maxminis Event | Gen Con 06 maxminis Event | Winterfantasy 07 Community Event

Welcome to the Dark Side. Who else wants to join, you know you want to.
Upsides to dark side. 1) cooler looking lightsabers 2) pizza 3) cooler names starting with Darth or Lord or Count 4) You get to wear black which is slimming 5) You get to be really powerful
Downsides 1) You go insane usually resulting in killing everyone you know 2) If your lactose intolerent pizzas not so good 3) Most sith end up quite ugly, black wont help with that! 4) You are usually quite lonely and bossed around by your lord a lot 5) You wind up dead cause everyone wants to kill you!
