| There's one movie I won't be seeing. Snakes on a plane? Why not cockroaches in a Lamorghini or Platypi on the Space Shuttle? Spiders on a moped would be just as good. A weasel in a '72 Pacer would probably sting too much for Pauly Shore's real life, but may get picked up as a series by TBS.
I have it: "Lions in the Yugo" could be the sequel. | | Champion of Prit(Wemic vindication is here) Minneapolis/St. Paul area Completed trades: Aspect of Cheese (Love that moniker), Tickparasite, Elderthing, Lalato, Sodj, Grimoire, SmilinIrish, Zeb, RWarehall,Link, wikkawikkawa, Auramancer, Rommers, HK, Ivid5,Qillan_dvra, Puggins, Arcabius, Ironfist Boulderbender, Robby, Corim Danex, monster_slayer, DNDJUNKIE, Kelemvor, Krush, ckissee, Massawyrm, hockey fan, Wish, Uninspiring Lieutenant, vtloon x2, Vrecknidj, Darthpoke, WakeXX, AnarionZell, lycusmike, papabear5 and umpteen local trades with board members

| Like most internet phenomena ("leet speek" for example) it is something very stupid and meaningless which socially reatarded net-geeks have cottoned on to (about 94% of whom will also claim to have invented or been present when invented) in order to exclude others and make themselves feel "kewl".
IMO of course. | | Champion of the Gelatinous Cube. Nemesis of Gnomes and Dinosaurs.

LOL I concur. I might give try when it hits the rental scene. I'd never heard of this before the question was asked, I just figured I'd give Wiki a shot.

| quote: Jackson publicly endorsed the move. "That's the only reason I took the job: I read the title," Jackson told entertainment site www.Collider.com. He added, "You either want to see that, or you don't."
The title is hysterical. It was made to be corny. Its like a big goofy parady horror movie. Its meant to be scary...but moreso meant to NOT be taken seriously. Its good for laughs and a fun time at the movies.

Forgive my ignorance? What do you mean by all this? This is a movie...So when you mention "Itnernet Phenomena" are you referring to all the excited fans that are posting about it on websites? What the difference between people getting excited over a silly Sam Jackson flik as opposed to....say....All the Firefly fans going crazy over the (at the time) upcomming Serenity?

| Snakes on a Plane just might end up being the Army of Darkness of this decade. A movie that people will love because of its cheesiness and hilarious absurdity. Then again, Army of Darkness was meant to be over the top, so Snakes on a Plane would be more like the first two Evil Dead movies. Still, it's not so much the movie itself as the hilarios jokes and parodies that will flow forth from the simple fact that it's a movie called "Snakes on a Plane."
I say kick back and enjoy the craze. | | Successful Trades (31) | Trades Pending (0) 12th Place in the 2005 Nationals, and I owe it all to the Minis Training Montage. Champion of Celestial Giant Stag Beetles

Cos this isn't even out yet and, unlike Serenity, is not based on an existing property. The net geeks cottoned on to this and just went bonkers with it based solely on the name. The producers are now even doing 5 days of shooting new material for this flick to add in stuff demanded by net geeks. | | Champion of the Gelatinous Cube. Nemesis of Gnomes and Dinosaurs.

Well as a net geek (who heard the name went bonkers and then found all the other net geeks doing it) I think thats awesome. Its just a name so dumb that it has to be good, when I first saw the title I was intrigued, but figured it was a metaphor or some high end heist film etc with a weird name. But no, it is what it says it is. Thats just funny in a very bad way. | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.
