I was at my local store today when we were hit by baseball sized hail... I've never seen it that size before! I got those about an hour after the storm, so they had melted a bit. On a side note, anyone got a spare windshield by any chance? [:0]

About a couple of weeks ago when the last storm system rolled through this part of the "midwest" we had some hail between golf ball and racquetball size hail. But, only a block away they had some baseball size hail!! [:0] as well. I hear what you are saying, crazy midwestern weather!!! Across the street from my house there was some roof damage. The only thing that happened to my place was the plastic window well covers to the basemnt look like they had been shot with a paionball gun, holes in them about 1-2 inches in diameter. Temerance as long as you are still okay that is the main thing. I know people that get caught outside and get pummeled!!!

I think you may have gotten off easy, Peter. I guess Iowa City got hit by a tornado, and my brother's house was right in it's path. Most of the windows were blown out, but other than that, it sounds like it's okay. Apparently a church near his place is completely missing, however. I haven't had a chance to talk to my friends and find out how bad they were hit. EDIT: Here are some pictures that my friend from back home emailed me. You can see the aforementioned church in one of them. I had my rear window blasted out by hail in May of '98. I just went to a salvage yard for the window and paid a glass company to install it at my office during the day. Cost me about $100 and no insurance claim to mess with.
