First, make a list of what you have and what you want.
Then post it in the marketplace and be willing to send first, since you are new to the site and thus don't have a reputation.
Check out the "Disputed Threads" section prior to trading with anyone, and if they are listed there, avoid them unless they are willing to send first.
Many people use the guide religiously, others go by "ebay" value, and others go by a "common sense" value... so be prepared to haggle a bit. :)
Beyond that, have fun and get to it. It doesn't take long to get a good (or a bad) reputation :)
