| | I was hoping my first was a boy and I got a girl... but there is no substitute for daddy's little girl in any man's heart. [:I] We had a boy next, and he's wonderful too. But I can say that you want a boy now, but having a girl is just as sweet. BTW, if you want any sleep, convince your wife to nurse. | Congrats!
Of course, now that it's been announced on Maxminis, expect the following.
1) A thread speculating on the sex, eye and hair color of the child. 2) Complaints that the quality of the baby creation seems to be slipping. 3) Now that you've announced a Dec 20th release date, expect to stick with that. 4) In early October, the first baby photos will be leaked online. There will be much hullabaloo over this and none of us will be able to talk about it until the doctor releases higher quality photos of the child at a rate of one per day. 5) 18 people will instantly demand that he be named Meepo, while several others will ask if they can have the "Gelatanous Cube."
Have fun! And seriously, congrats. | | If you have to ask what DA is, then I never whooped your ass with it.

| Username,
Are you guys going to find out the sex of the baby early? My wife is due in November, and we're going to find out next month.
If so, might be fun if we had a "guess the gender" then a "guess the date/weight" kind of thread later. I'd even supply prizes (for the date one, gender is just too easy :P).
If you're interested, I'll start a new thread. :) | | POST DISCLAIMER: Above post may contain humor. Now with micro scrubbing bubbles. Do not operate heavy machinery. Take with food. We are waiting to find out the gender on the 20th week, and it is week 9 I believe. We are going to see/hear the heartbeat on the 30th of this month.

| OK, we need somebody to be due in October, and we'll have the fall covered.
I'm predicting a boy for Username, and a girl for Kiddoc. We'll see. I know I have at least one rare for the prize pot. I'll have a look tomorrow when I get home.
Seeing that little heartbeat on the monitor is the coolest thing (although be prepared for a heart rate of like 150 or something, ours was 180 at 8 weeks).
When we went in for the 20 week ultrasound, Sean was jumping all over the place, and the tech had trouble getting good pictures, so I started humming on her belly (which I do all the time) and he got still and started sucking his thumb! It was so awesome to see him react to something I did. She took a shot of him sucking his thumb, and we have that one framed in our room right now.

Cool! Have you seen those FREAKY 3-D brown and black pictures? Quite scary! We are at week 9, almost 10 and go to the doctor on the 30th to hear the heartbeat for the first time. We got those FREAKY pictures done with all of our girls. They are actually really cool. Ours are done on a DVD so you can watch the baby moving. Actually, the resemblance to the baby when born is remarkable (if done after 28 weeks).

| Yeah, I think those are about $150. We decided not to do those.
If you are going to be buying a themed crib bedspread set, check out Burlington Coat Factory, they have tons of sets, and they aren't limited to what is on the shelf, they can order more stuff.
We registered at Babys R Us, it was pretty easy. If you have a friend with a young baby, take them with you to sort out what is really useful and what is fluff.

Aye, there are very few things I found indispensable once my son was born, that was one of the most useless.
The bottle warmer was crap and I used the baby-wipe warmer for about 2 months.
Best thing I got was the nose sucker bulb thing, I still use it. Another very useful thing was the doughnut type pillow that goes around your waist so you can rest your arms while keeping the baby snug next to you and he/she doesn't freak.
I had intentions of using the bjorn and I did a couple of times but meh, I could've done without it at the end.
A bouncy chair is a must! hours of fun and free time for you. | | Trades >> Completed: 49 | Bad: Ø | Pending: 0 | Trade & talk Live on IRC! SERVER: irc.psionics.net CHANNEL: #maxminis
