Just wanted to share how great the Maxminis community can be...

A month ago I received an email from CSchroder (Charles Schroder) telling me he wanted to help us over here (in the Philippines) by sending us some stuff from retailer kits (because we could not get retailer kit support).

I was pleasantly surprised by his and his Maryland crew's generosity because they did it all of on their own initiative. We never asked for it (except from Wizards of course). So aside from him sending us this stuff for absolutely nothing in return, he also had to pay for the usual postal fees.

When I finally opened the package he sent, I was stunned to see that he had also added 2 rares (Artemis and Ulmo)! It was totally unneccessary because we really only needed stuff we couldn't normally acquire (epic cards, repaints, etc.). Those rares came from his/their own pockets. And now they'll be part of the coming prize piles.

So, on behalf of the Philippine DDM community, I'd like to express our overwhelming gratitude to CSchroder and his Maryland crew. Thank you very much, CAS! Your help will definitely make our next couple of tournaments a little bit more interesting!

There are some great folks in the DDM community. I see this kind of thing on a smaller scale with individual players giving away their prizes (i.e. giving away a booster or two since they've already got everything in a given set), and with people opening boosters and giving all their non-rares to the local kids to keep them interested.

We're a good bunch. Though it's wonderful to hear of this kind of generosity.
