Hehe, I actually removed the capitals for ease of typing. My regular nick's capitalization would probably annoy you: DariusTAD.
However, TAD is short for three words (I abbreviated the full "name" of what an old character of mine finally ended up being:

| My user-name comes from a character I played in an evil campaign, a Drow wizard by the name of Izdrin Tir'engeven. He was NE, obssessed with obtaining godhood and displacing Lolth as the chief diety of the Drow, and constantly schemed against his party members if it helped him further his own goals. He had a particularly juicy feud with one particular party member and this one particular time we were going through this dungeon and started arguing about whether or not to open a door or not. Izdrin was opposed to it, the other character was not. The other character opened the door, which opened to a room with about a dozen trolls. Izdrin then proceeded to shove the character into the room, slammed the door shut, and put an arcane lock on the door. When the rest of the party managed to convince him to release the lock, the other character tried to attack Izdrin, he then cast a wall of force around her and threatened to cast permanancy on the wall and let her rot inside it if she didn't calm down. Long story short, when I first told my DM I wanted to play a Drow he was skeptical thinking I'd bring a CG Drow ranger wielding scimitars to the table. I told him "Don't worry this is not another drizzt clone". Hence my user name.

| When I went to register over at WotC I needed a username over 3 letter long (my fraternity knick was "Uno" and I've carried it with me - even my mother used to call me Uno and I've had 2 business' that used it, I still DJ as DJ UNO).
I had been lurking for a while and I had noticed that a lot of the user names were a bit pompous - so I wanted to go in a different direction. "Dragon Snack" kind of popped into my head while I was trying to think up some way to use "Kobold", so I ran with it...
Since it's *usually* still available, I have carried it across a couple of message boards. | | | |

| Taliesin was a real world poet. Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taliesin
More importantly, Taliesin was the father of Merlin in Stephen Lawhead's Pendragon Cycle. A bard in the true sense of the word, a warrior poet. Back when I played White Wolf games, I played a Hermetic mage who chose Taliesin as his shadow name, a name he could give to his fellows that had no actual connection to his avatar, and so couldn't be used to exert influence over him. | Here's my story:
My username came about in 2001 when I was approached online by a fellow who was starting up a new website dedicated to dungeon masters and resources for them. He was looking for a writer to do game product reviews. For some still mostly unknown reason to me, I had been recommended to him by some people who knew me (by my alter ego, Darth Spice) from the WotC boards.
I had no idea what would make a good username, as I had not given much thought to a good pseudonym for a game reviewer...
The name itself comes from one of my D&D characters -- or rather, a character I wanted to play and never got the chance. I am almost always the DM, but when 3rd Edition had just come out, I wanted to see what the rule changes were like from the other side of the screen, so a friend said he'd run a game.
I ended up making a Sorcerer, with great plans for him, and nothing ever happened. But he had a name. Part of his name (or at least how he was known) was "The Kithmaker."
...and that is how I chose Kithmaker as my pseudonym to write game reviews for Mortality.net. As the name became recognized in the online gaming community, I used it on all the boards I frequented (especially when WotC purged my Darth Spice account).
So there.
