| | Ever thought what you could've gotten instead of that booster or that case? Think about it. Really think about it. I know this another one of my stupid threads, but I still can't help but think instead of that booster I could've gotten that...well I can't come up with anything because all I buy is boosters. Any ideas? | |

| Most of the things I come up with are dull and make me happy about my frivolous purchase.
I'm sure I could have re-carpeted my basement by now with the money I've spent... easily. But you know what? I bet 70s shag carpet will be back in style in 10 more years. Just you wait ;)

Same here. I could sell them all and maybe take a couple thousand off my debt. But I'd still have many thousands in debt still left, and no Minis. Thats just no fun. | |

| Opportunity cost (what you could have gotten instead) is a funny concept, especially if you get all psychological and metaphysical about it.
If you had purchased something else instead of purchasing your DDM figures, you would not have played DDM, or experienced all the other things associated with the game.
Who we are is a product of our experiences.
Accordingly, if you had not purchased yuor DDM figures, your life experiences would have been different, and you'd thus be a different person.
Accordingly, when you ask what you'd have done if you had not used the money to buy your DDM figures, you're ignoring the simple fact that *you* had no choice but to buy those figures, as not buying them would have made you into someone else. You are who you are because you bought those figures. It was, thus, your destiny. | |
