Athens was the stronger of the two. However they kept on making mistakes. They were warned not to over extend their empire, and they did. They were warned not to fight a war on two fronts, and they did.Â

No doubt on the latter. Spartan soldiers are considered among the very best historically. Athens seemed to have numbers and wealth, but that stuff was 25 years ago for me. | |
