| After reading through the Whining Thread, I figured I'd start a gratitude thread.
1) I'm grateful that I live in the USA. (It's been getting harder to say this of late, but it's still true.) 2) I'm grateful that I have good health (which trumps having good health insurance). 3) I'm grateful that my car runs. 4) I'm grateful that I have a job at all. 5) I'm grateful that I have a wonderful wife (I suppose this ought to be #1, but she doesn't read the boards. ). 6) I'm grateful that I have two healthy, smart kids. It's handy that they're gamers. 7) I'm grateful that I have the free time to spend on silly things like this game, and on conversation devoted to it.

Never stop saying it Dave and never stop being proud of it. It's become fashionable to bash the U.S. of late. Some of that bashing even coming from its citizens.

Well, you might be considered dissident and dangerous, but at least that doesn't get you tossed in jail, beaten or executed (generally).
I, too, am grateful for a wife, 3 kids, good health, and a good job that pays enough that I can dream of one day escaping debt. I'm also grateful that I live in the USA--for freedom, prosperity, relative safety for myself and my family. It's nice to know that you're allowed to whine about the country's failing but, once you get past being cynical, also realize that you actually have some power to change the things you don't like. I'm grateful that I can take for granted that when I need food, clothing, gasoline, electricity, gas for heating, etc., it'll be there and I'll have the means to buy it.
And though I was a recent victim of a crime (reference the whining thread), I'm grateful that all that I suffered was a bit of hassle cleaning up a mess of glass and a messy garage, a struggle with my insurance company, and a few days with only one driveable vehicle. The same weekend someone shot up my cars with a bb gun, on the other side of town, someone else was shooting up a house with a much more powerful firearm--there, a 12 year old girl died in her bed. Kind of puts things in perspective.

Dave Wow, you covered all the major I'm grateful for bases.Â
But I will add a few comments / other things I'm grateful for:
1) I'm double grateful that I live in this great country we call the USA. 2) I'm grateful for meeting all the super great people I have met through DDM. 3) I'm grateful for good food at a nice resturant. 4) I'm grateful cool television shows like "24". 5) I'm grateful for being able to laugh. 6) I'm grateful for today's medical technology, otherwise I likely would be living the rest of my life in pain.Â

that I'm healthy that I have a woman who loves me to death (god only knows why) that I'm going to be a dad in a few months. that I have a good family. that I have a good job. that I live in the USA and not in some country where my freedom is curtailed. (despite what the conspiracy nuts say)
