There was something, um....special, about a lot of the 80s cartoons. Some really cool ones, and some really horrible ones. You may decide where this one lies in that scale. This was the first cartoon to have hispanic main characters.

Like everything today, no matter how unrelated, is made into a video game, so everything in the 80's, especially video games, was made into a cartoon.

Off the top of my head, I can think of Pole Position, Dragon Quest, Space Quest, Donkey Kong, Pac Man, and the already mentioned Q-bert. I know there are more, but can't think of them now.

Me, by a wide margin. Nostalgia only works if people actually remember the thing being references, and Rubix the Amazing Cube jsut doesn't ping most people's nostalgiometer.

So true, only have vague memories of the Rubix avatar... (wasn't a fan of the show) ..and would have never remembered the name of the show.

Man I missed out on so many cartoons in the 80s My folks had _bad_ rabbit ears and I was held at something like 30 minutes of TV a day, I was missing the pop culture references for years to come

For nine months out of the year, every Saturday morning until I was in 5th grade I had to go to Greek School and missed most morning cartoons.  Summer was my only time to catch up with everyone else.

True, but then there is the obscure geekatude factor, as if there is a contest for the most obscure reference. It's the only reason I can think that there are Space Coaster or HR Puffnstuff T-shirts out there.

HR Puffnstuff isn't that obscure. Most of my less-than-geeky friends have heard of it/used to watch the show.

I remember the Saturday Supercade. Makes some of the newer cartoons seem downright well-done. Which is impressive since most current cartoons are complete trash.
