Kid's picks for this season:
1.)   If Forsburg returns, he goes to Detroit... (hope he comes to Ottawa, but not likely) 2.)   Sens and Penguins in the Eastern final 3.)   Ducks and Flames in the Western final 4.)   Heatly wins the Rocket Richard 5.)   Krush will pick the Sharks. :]

| Here I am and yes "All Hail San Jose". JR scores two! The Ducks are winless woohoo! As for Forsberg, I think he his done and if he did return, I doubt Detroit would pick him up anyway.

| Ducks look terrible so far. To be a factor they need Selanne and Niedermayer.
I'll say Sharks v. Rangers (there's some love for you Jeff)
I'm pretty sure Det can't afford Forsberg under the cap. Maybe back to the Avs for one more shot? | | Champion of Devas Ref list: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5179(42+ completed trades/sales)

| Forsberg himself said last season that his foot will never be the same. I'm not exactly sure what the reason is but I beleive he said that the arch is the cause. Besides to join the Wings there is an age requirement.

| Crosby wins the Art Ross. That's not hard.
Ovechkin takes Rocket Richard.
Luongo the Vezina.
Pronger the Norris.
More suspensions for head shots. Good for the game. But, let them keep fighting the "clean" fights. Also good for the game.

As a big hockey fan, I fear the last part of your statement is slowly coming true. In the early 90's, hockey was one of the big sports. Now it can't even hold a candle to things like golf and NASCAR. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades.

Golf? That's like watching grass grow (although I do like watching Tiger rip the others apart now and then). And NASCAR, at least its interesting with the chase and crashes.Â
For me there is nothing like a good ol' Hockey game.Â

less relevant: perhaps, but if the NHL ever got a competant commissioner (Gary Betman is 'de devil') they would leverage their combined(North Anerican)Â TV veiwership numbers to attract more sponsorship money.
here is a neat little read on said topicfrom last January: http://www.thestar.com/columnists/article/171418
cheers, kid

| I don't think Hockey has gone away, expansion is what has killed it. They cannot go forward with future expansion, very bad for the league. Should have stopped with the FLA teams and left it at that. Secondly, an opinion from the West Coast here, Ron Wilson I fear is not long to be the head coach of the Sharks. Granted he has brought the team far, but not to the promised land. Tonight's game against the Wings was an nothing short of ridiculous. I give Ron Wilson a few more weeks, if that. GM Doug Wilson was in attendence tonight and he did not look to be a happy camper. My prediction for now.

| | Never been a fan of Ron Wilson. His biggest achievement was with team USA, but back then he might have actually had the best team. At the NHL level, he hasn't been as successful as the talent of his players would suggest. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

Nicely put Joe, :P The local papers have him in the spot light. What is disturbing however is that Marleau has not said a single word in the papers to date. Locker room politics? Maybe. The season is still young...but IMHO I don't see Ron Wilson lasting the season. Wilson is a primer....at best. The Sharks have a great team, but during the last game they(Wings) focused on Milan Michalek. The league is focusing (paying attention) on us (the Sharks). The pressure is on and we have to respond. Sure I can act as a analyst to say what they need to go forward but; The team intact is great but leadership lacks behind the bench. It leaves a sour taste in my mouth. As a Sharks fan I hate to see another disapointing season. I would love to see Lord Stanely in the Bay Area. God knows we have been hurting as of late with the Giants, A's, the 49ers and Raiders all sucking the "big kahuna". Almost forgot the Warriors but they may have a chance at making the playoffs this coming season!

| Jim, this might sound pathetic, but I think I could achieve the same result as Ron Wilson behind the Sharks bench. I'd probably even have a better shot of making the team a more cohesive unit. You might know better, as you're local, but I hear that he rubs a lot of players the wrong way.
Scotty Bowman was tough on his players, but he could make them listen. His resume has a lot to do with the respect he commands, and Ron Wilson just isn't the same.
How would you feel about having someone like Pat Quinn in San Jose? He's well known for allowing his stars to just play the way they want, and the Sharks have plenty of talent to let loose on opposing goaltenders. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades.

| That is a very interesting choice. I hadn't thought of Quinn, what really bugs me is the fact that he keeps changing the lines. Sure it worked last year but give the team a change to gel on the ice. If you recall all the hub bub about how Wilson was gonna use Marleau, Thronton and Cheechoo on the same line. How long did that last? Probably the only thing that the Sharks have is; TOO much talent. A question, what will they do with Ozolinsh after he's played a few down in the minors? Does Doug Wilson have a plan? I hate to see any of the young guys get traded. In the long run if Ron Wilson ends up leaving, I hope the new coach will use the younger talent in the correct way.Â

| | Well, I know Michalek is a good player, but I think he'd probably have trouble carrying a line. I'd stick with the tried and true Thornton/Cheechoo combination, and probably play Marleau with Michalek. I was never into being a one-line team - the other team just puts out its best defensive pairing, and its checking line. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |
