| Sony just released High Velocity Bowling (download) game for the ps3. It uses the motion-sensing capabilities of the sixaxis controller and strongly resembles Wii Sports Bowling (with more 'adult' graphics and a better physics engine). So far the motion-sensing capabilities for the ps3 have been used only in really gimmicky, sideshow ways. Seems that programmers are finding ways to actually incorporate the spiffy hardware specs into some software. Finally.

| | Wow, that sounds awesome. I don't have a PS3 yet, but a good friend of mine does. He was playing a game where he was a dragon rider, and he was describing something similar to me - the flying motion and direction of the dragon were controlled by the motion of the controller. | |

| | Lair (the motion-sensing dragon game) got pretty poor reviews. In particular, the control scheme gets labeled as wonky, buggy, or gimmicky. With High Velocity Bowling the controls are actually quite natural and responsive. Haven't come across any bugs yet. | |

More than a wii, less than most other blu-ray players. When Haze comes out there will finally be a real multi-player game (Resistance: Fall of Man is one person per box) game for it too.

| In order to care about a blue ray player I'd also have to care about a high def TV. Moreover, I'd have to stuff my stifling rage for the MPAA and actually buy/rent a movie again. As I hate the MPAA and everything about them, spending $1500 or whatever on a new tv + blue ray/hd just so I re-purchase movies I already own isn't going to happen.

Aside from that, a few ps3 games do look a bit fun, but I'm still happy with my Wii for the moment. | |
