| He used to be an engineer and physicist/physician (the science-man:)), then worked for army in WWII. He wrote a lot of books based on things he thought are reasonable within his area of expertise, so no theories about aliens, but things he thought are creatable. He created the design stationary satellites and he is a Sir.

| Yeah, he wasn't quite as widely known as Asimov, but, when they were both frequently and widely publishing, they were about equally well known in the sci-fi world especially.
I'm gonna miss all these guys. I've been bummed since Douglas Adams left us...
