| Cycling sounds nice but it's very circumstantial :P
I used to bike to the grocery store instead of driving. But as in most cities, bike theft rates are through the roof. I would double or triple lock my bike. It lasted a bit more than a year until someone finally found a way to smash my locks and steal my bike. It was only a ~300 bike (nice enough to give a good ride, but nothing fancy) but I'm not inclined to replace it, it's just too much hassle for something that people seem to make a career out of stealing. | |

The official word is that we're SI metric, but being such close neighbours with the US means that we're still greatly influenced by our neighbours down south. I still do my weight in pounds, and my height in feet and inches. And mph is still a lot cooler than km/h. Otherwise, metric's a lot better for engineers. | |
