| A old buddy of mine was arrested in San Francisco for urinating in public(yeah, stupid thing to do) but the worst part was that he was wearing a t-shirt by a local hardcore band that said "Millions Of Dead Cops" a.k.a.MDC, all I can tell you is that he spent the entire night in the paddy wagon. It was pretty bad.

| It was harsh....we saw him a few days after the incident with a couple of black eyes. He was never charged IIRC but they got their point across. They the police tolerated us (punks) back then but there was a fine line and unfortunatly it was crossed.

I know, and unfortunatly I wish I didn't know. It was never the same going to hardcore shows in S.F. for awhile after that. I stopped going sometime later...
then a new...nevermind that's another story. Looking back now 20+ years later, I can't believe sh*t like that would happen and my buddy's incident wasn't the only one,
there were others. Thinking about it now makes my skin crawl.

| It was '84 and the decline of hardcore where I was at in the (SF Bay Area). The SF police were not nearly as bad as the LA police. The LA scene was definitly, definitly different than ours. The movie "American Hardcore" is a definite movie to watch for those intertested. Another is "The Decline of Western Civilization" the orginal(coming to DVD eventually), not the Metal Years, in my opinion a total embarressment to metal. It didn't matter if you were wearing a certain t-shirt or not, his just happened to say "Millions Of Dead Cops". Like you said earlier, Joe wrong place and wrong time. I was 18-19ish at the time when this went down and for me it had an effect on how I would treat people in general, in the future.
