| Can't take Jury Duty, or two years without GenCon? I could do both.
Jury duty should be nice. My company pays full wages while we're at jury duty, plus whatever the gov't pays me for it. And, time away from the office. NICE!

| The family and I bought a bigger house last year and moved in in October. Yippie. Wait. We put pur old house up for sale last June. Of course the mortgage market crashed and it is still our "summer" home.Â
Having not sold our old house for 10+ months, two mortages, high gas prices, and increasing costs for everything else absolutely sucks. Having a place to go to when you have no where else to go, priceless.Â

There's a few work related reasons (if you're essential to the business, or if you're an emergency responder {EMT, Police, etc.} and whatnot.)

Can't speak for every judge, but that should be enough to get you excused. I went to jury duty once and a guy got excused for that very reason.

| All Connect (a service that is supposed to make life easier by setting up all your utilities with one phone call when you change addresses), Qwest DSL and DirecTV suck. These jerks signed us up for a home phone/DSL/DirecTV package that was supposed to cost us about $100/month, no setup fees. So what do we get for a first bill? Separate bills from DirecTV for $77, and Qwest for $26 for phone, $86 for DSL and $100 plus $15 shipping for the modem that was supposed to be free.
What is worse, despite the fact that All Connect reviewed the recorded phone call that set us up with everything and agreed that we're not getting what we were promised, they, DirecTV and Qwest keep giving us the run-around with nobody willing to take responsibility and fix this f-up.
One thing's for sure - I'm going back to cable TV/internet, and none of these jerks are ever getting my business again. I hope I can convince 100 more people to do the same. | |
