Do you mean you sent someone a proposal in the trading system and they simply clicked decline to the trade? If so, I think this is pretty much the standard with the trading system. I always email someone first and see if there is a trade and then put my trade into the trade system once we have a deal. I think that when you put into the trading system a proposal the trader has the right to simply decline the offer. I myself usually add a comment to it to detail why, but I don't make much more of an effort beyond that. | | Champion of the Beholder and Beholderkin

| Actually, reezel, the trader has specifically asked to only be sent offers through the new interface. I was happy to oblige, but did not know it was a sly way to not have to politely send an email back to interested parties. I should have mentionned this before. What word first comes to mind with such behaviour ? Be honest, I will refrain, since I am already on tight watch but will tell you if you guess right, hehe | | Please donate BLOOD at http://www.monstersgame.co.uk/ac=vid&vid=11018554 Champion Of Kaz the Minotaur Knight of ALL Draconians. That's not at all what the interface is. It's something that Jai worked very hard on to get done in a fairly short time. It's purpose is to give the boards an internal mechanism to track and confirm trades. As opposed to the hodge-podge e-mail method that was being used. The e-mail system worked well enough, but the interface is far, far superior. There is nothing sneaky about it. There is nothing to stop someone from e-mailing back 'I decline'. And if you use the decline option an e-mail is sent stating that the offer was declined. I have had several offers I made declined and wasn't insulted at all. | | You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. | | Well, I am not sure in that particular case, but I have received the refusal at least a day before an actual email was sent to me, if it ever is... I always answer emails and I thought this thread was to promote more timely, friendly communications between traders. | | Please donate BLOOD at http://www.monstersgame.co.uk/ac=vid&vid=11018554 Champion Of Kaz the Minotaur Knight of ALL Draconians. | Do you have a spam filter? Maybe it's eating them. The e-mail should be sent as soon as it's clicked it's sent to both parties. I've aways received mine immediately. It should say something like this (replace accepted with decline)
A Trade you have open with shadroth has been updated. Your trade offer has been accepted.
Please visit http://www.maxminis.com/trade/default.asp for more information on the trade.

| I almost always receive emails from the trade interface when a trading parnter updates an open trade. However, there's been at least 1 time (in a recent trade with Archmage7) that I didn't receive an email when he received and left feedback.
So it might not be a rude trading partner but some sort of email error. Just something to consider. | | Have: Cat; Want: Storm Giant Champion of Anything Dragonlance Before trading, please check the Disputed Trades Thread

| I always receive emails when a trade is offered or updated... except once.
A recent trade offer was sent to my junk mail folder and I don't know why as all the other offers made it into my inbox. And the funny thing is I sent almost the same offer to the same trader at the same time so I never even missed his trade offer until today when I checked my junk mail to retrieve something I accidentally marked as junk. It was strange to see a maxminis offer from a someone I was already trading with for the same thing we were trading, he must have been slightly puzzled by my first email as he must have thought it was a response to his offer.
My (longwinded [:)]) point is even if you have your filters set sometimes some things slip through. If I hadn't made my offer the trader i'm dealing with might have thought I blew him off.
