Thank you to whoever fixed it, but downsized it was very clear one was coppery ( standard on WoTc's pictures, while the other one ( I have 2 or 3 like that ) are very clearly black.
Were there two versions of the Archfiends Warrior Skeleton ? Repaints ? Promos ? | |

I've not heard of official repaints or Promo's of this fig. Frankly, your picture is to blurry to do much good. Try taking it again with good light, and a good focus'd picture.
A key item, as mentioned is what is written on the bottom of each.
Mistakes DO happen in production...

Well, I know from an ebay seller friend of mine that "defect" cards are actually worth
more, could the same be true for the two "black" warrior skeleton models I have ? I know
copper painting is the default color. And, I will check the base and try to get my friend
to take a better picture of them. Standing would be better, I think.
By the way, what should I be looking for on the base ? | |

This can be true. There have been several instances of Factory defects, or factory Master hitting Ebay (someone in China must be Dumpster Diving!), and they have sold for a good bit more than standard figures. However, these figures don't ever (as far as I have heard) make their way into boosters.
Unfortunatley the skeleton is a common, so it may not make that much of a difference, particularly as its probably not "painted" black, but rather the painter FORGOT to paint it!

Hmm, forgetting to paint...that could just be. Ok, let me list the text on the bases. The
cards are the same ( oh, and my defect card was a HB-Gnoll that had no number or rarity and a black stripe on top of the card ).

| Since the text on the bottom of the figure confirms that these were MEANT to be the standard skeletons, more than likely the "special" figures aren't worth much more than the standard ones, at least to collectors.
Maybe if they were still in the original plastic, you might have something, since it would be an obvious defect from the factory. Even then, defects (by themselves) aren't all that special--lots of people pull figures that are missing arms and weapons and such, and I haven't of any collectors looking for those.
Also, the alternative paint job could have easily been someone repainting standard skeletons after they pulled them from the boosters in the normal fashion. There are people out there who will pay a premium for a nicely done alternative paint scheme, but it has to be just that: a NICELY DONE paint job. I doubt many people will pay much for a poorly done alternative paint job (not saying that yours are--I really can't tell much from the photo--you'll have to judge that for yourself). | |

Actually the paint job is worse, but they look more like skeletons. Black fits better than
copper for skeletons and you can see the limbs inside better. It is up for trade, if anyone
is curious at the same value a normal one has. My unbagged is painted black. I kept a black
bagged because I am working on a skeleton army and it would be best if they all looked alike,hehe [)] | |
